You're set then, just need a new motor and make up a wiring harness that allows you to run the 2 2s packs in series, Thats the exact way I run my SV27. 2 2s 5000 mah packs in series. No strange charging, just charge and balance like you would anyway.
You'll really like a fast rigger, my favorite type, don't look much like a real boat but for all out performance they are the cats ass!
LOL ya that guy hasn't bothered posting any more about his speed claims, notice how they started at 140 kph then ended around 90kph with NiMh batteries?!? I don't understand why people post outrageous claims as if nobody here has a clue what boats are capable of with a given setup.
    Cheers
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

      I PLAN TO oops.... run 4S, 2 x 2S in series, 4500 nano's.

Motor AQ 2030 gold motor from UL-1, Turnigy 120 amp esc.

My own driveline, Hughey pinned shaft since R2 gave me a right lay shaft.

Prop will be typical for a UL-1 motor, m445 or x642.... around there. Hoping for 60mph with right prop.
This should not be too hot of a setup.

One pack on top of the sponson booms & on behind the bulkhead.

If needed, I think I can stack a pair of 2S packs behind the first bulkhead or, one 4S pack.

      So much to do...

For giggles, if it will fit, I have a Turnigy Trackstar 6 pole 4068, 2560KV motor to try in there. That should be just evil but, I'm looking for better booms or a way to make these less flexible.

well it looks like a 2*2 cell for me then, and as for speed I'm just happy that it runs nice and smooth and not upside down as im sure as hell am not trying out for a new world speed record besides the missus will freak if I buy a GPS just to measure how fast im going

so i guess the question still remans is what is a good motor for my set

        which is now

        -2*2 cell 7.4 V so running at 14.8V turnigy 40C 5000mah batteries (I have 4 of these 7.4v Batteries )
        -180Amp turnigy ESC
-3blade 35mm 1.4 pitch prop of unknown origin (its been hiding down the back of my parts box for years.
        -stock 4mm square drive hardware

        any replies would be appreciated

A UL-1 motor or a Fightercat 2200Kv outrunner, or the larger 1970Kv motor.

Either one of these will, "light up your life"... err boat...

overall i am fairly happy with my purchase but this is my first rigger and im only out for the fun of it

and ray the cable in my boat is for a left rotation prop

now here was my test setup

              Feiago 540s 5070Kv motor
              turnigy 180A esc
              7.4 lipo
              2 blade stock prop

              videolink

everything the same except prop was changed to a 3blade 35mm aluminium

now my problem atm is that the motor i have in it doesnt have enough tourque and gets way too hot so i need to switch to a longer motor, can someone advise me as to a what i should be using for my setup but i only have enough cash to go upto a feiago 540L and i was thinking around the 3500Kv mark but i will take any advice as it comes
              very odd?
when you play these two videos back to back or at the same time you will hear a much different pitch from the motor... the second video has much more rpms than the first
or the first one is at 75% throttle and the second is 100%
also I still have yet to see a 90mph rigger here
the secon vid looks like upper 40's maybe low 50's
              .NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8s

                YEP
but the throttle was not altered at all both videos were run at full throttle
I had two different props running. As i was still testing what is the better prop to use on this boat. The second video with a higher motor pitch and faster of the two video's had a 3blade 35mm prop 1.4 pitch. The first video posted had the stock prop which is a 38mm plastic prop

This is the only difference in the two videos of mine oh and that they were shot on different video cameras

and trust me i would like mine to go 90mph, but I know that with my budget that is definately unobtainable with this hull

Nobody is claiming 90mph but, some yahoo that posted a review. I was dumb enough to put his comments in english... hindsight...

The video on the website is clearly not 90mph...

This unit will most like come apart before 90mph without serious re-inforcements.

I fitted the Trackstar 2560kv in there and it fits W/O a jacket. I might be able to make a really thin waterjacket for it. The largest Fightercat motor (i.e. 1970Kv) will fit under the canopy

Now this chinese rigger can take Mucho power at 1.2Meters long
