Well she is done. I moved the ESC back.

Here is a few vid running two 8.4v NiMh EP4500 packs, the SV power plant, a FM Tactic radio(no extra BEC), and a X642. I like it...

      3s or 4s (5000 mah, 20-30C)
      Himodel 200A ESC
range of props 40-45? and maybe the V937/3
      0.187 flex
      speedmaster 21 strut & rudder
I dont know if I would use the 1512 2d. A 1512 2.5D(2050kv) would be a better choice, or the 1515 1Y also. These 2 choices should do great on a 4s setup. I would also look at the y537/3 prop also.
My prop hasn't been wet in a while.

I would absolutely go with the 1515 1Y... it's a perfect motor for 4S2P, and with the newer cells, would likely work for a sprint setup on 4S1P... Very efficient motor and quite powerful...

Darin, the 1515/1Y is a great racing motor, but for fast sport running it may be a bit too much for most guys. The 1515/2.5D or 1515/1.5Y would be better for those who want more than two minutes of run time, or who want to spin a prop big enough for a heavier or larger boat. IMO the 1515 series is a better size for 4S than the 1512 unless a gear box is used.

Russ, I have the nitro mount. I cut the front off it but if you want it, its free for the shipping.

If you have there mount, it looks to be about 6 inches to the back side of the mount to the back of the boat, or 7 1/2 inches to the centerish of the motor mounts. This is how it looks to be stock from Aeromarine.

Changed a few things, she really runs very nice now. I am 100% satisfied. She lives right there on the coffee table.

Well she is done. I moved the the ESC. I am happy with it AS IS. Batteries sit right on the side and can be mover up or back but back is where I run them.

Ran a X442 on the MM with the SV power plant with both 7cells and Lipo packs. Its OK, its a little easier on the batteries but seems a little slow. The X642 so far seems best for this set up, I will try a few more props one of these days.

Here is a different setup that I tried successfully, speed over 45mph but I don't know exactly. (I stopped measuring speed which also stops me from buying motors & bats). With the m440 everything was cool so I started going up and ended with the x645 detongued. Best speed and everything slightly warm, run time min. 4mins
