      Mean Machine Cheep

Eodman thanks for the heads up
I looked at them on e-bay then called Aeromarine direct. There sending me a MM, yellow with decals for $60.00 plus shipping $15.00. There are lots of MM builds on this form so I won't have to hard a time making up my OSE parts order.

Thanks for the heads up. I just called and picked up one. Nice guy and easy transaction. They have about 100 of these boats there looking to place, $60. Here is the number if someone wants one. 302-628-3944

Before you guys go tearing these boats up. Went over mine last night. The only thing wrong was the on/off switch was bad. Motor fired up no problem.
Will be making a proto type bolt on motor mount for 540 size electric today. Should have the bugs out by monday. This is going to be super light, fully adjustable, and no need to remove the original mount.
          Any takers?

Well no, I bought 4 of them. Since I am a repeat customer he gave me a great deal. Came with everything except the gas tank. Un opened Radios were also included which I didnt even know I was getting.

Boats are beautifull. The only water damage is the nut on the rudder has surface rust. One had some surface rust on the flex shaft but is not pitted, fine to use. Better then expected. Not a blemish on paint or hardware.

                    Dual Pickup Rudder on MM??????????

Thinking of installing a Speedmaster Dual pick rudder on a MM. Like the idea of cooling for motor and ESC seperate. Part # ros-rud-dualpu- with a 2 inch set back and trim about 3/8 to 1/2 inch off the lenght.
Any one gone this direction or is it to much rudder. power will be a Neu 1521-1D

You are going to put a 1521 1D in a 29" Mean Machine??? Are you planning on running 4S with this?? Is it a SAW setup??

There are going to be a TON of watts wasted there... WAY too much motor for that hull... On 4S that's 44,800RPM or so...

Not to pry... maybe it's none of my business... but what are you intentions for this boat??? SAW, Sport, Oval Racing??

For a Neu... I'd suspect that a 1515 1Y would be more than enough power for that hull... At the MOST a 1521 1.5D... but you'd have to be able to run a decent diameter prop to run the later... (X447, X450, etc...) I also think that it would be overkill as well...

I think Jay Turner did an article on this hull and converting a MM to Lipos from NiMh awhile back in an RCBM magazine... I don't recall which motor he used... For some reason a 9XL comes to mind, but I also think there was a geardrive involved... I'll try to look it up tonight and let you know...

My choice, without further info, would be a 1515 1Y on 4S2P and run it direct-drive... That would give you LOTs of power and good runtime on a reasonable prop setup...

All just my opinion, of course...

                            Power for MM

Thanks for the good feed back. I picked the 1521-1D from a build on this form. I had a feeling it may be to much and you confirmed. I change to a 1515-1Y. I will be oval racing.
I see your from Renton, I moved to Florida about 5 years ago, did live in The Parks on the south east side of Renton on the hill.
I see why you go for the O'berto hydro, I use to what the old SloMo's when I was a kid.

You think the SV powerplant would be OK in this? Maybe running 14 cells or 2 - 7.4 Lipo's
