Travis that's a awesome color! BTW lots of full size race boats are sanded on the running surfaces it basicly creates a air film on the surface much like the oil film on the running surfaces of an engine. At least that's the way I understand it.

Here's some better pics. I worried about the top not matching after I left home this morning (first time I saw it in the sun was this morning and the pics made the top look off) so when I got home I looked at it again. It's just the picture throwing it off because of the pearl. Whew. I was stressed lol.

Travis. When sanding the bottom make sure the scratches do not run parallel to length of the boat works much better on an angle. Parallel adds area while on an angle reduces surface tension because creates ultra small bubbles in the water. On full size boats 400 seems to be the ticket, not sure yet on rc.

          Lots of updates....

So I ordered these little wire holders (thanks to Joel I show I found them) a while back and I just haven't found a use for them till now. I did use them in my buddy's cheetah but other than that I've got a bag of them. It's just the hole is too big for a small screw. Then I thought about using a rivnut and a thumb screw to hold the flap closed. Awesome idea! So now I'm using these to hold my cooling line and wires out the way. Pretty nifty.

So I countersunk the rivnut to be flush with the bottom.

Then I riveted it in the holder

Then the thumb screw holds the flap shut and holds everything in place.

Hard to see but installed in the hull. For now I'm using the thin grey 3m double stick tape.

Time to run the cooling line through the transom. Well o was going to use a bulkhead fitting but in an effort to keep things clean and neat, the holes needs to make a sharp turn. Not gonna happen with the fitting. So I decided to to a trim ring type where the hose slides through. Well I guess I ran out of the bigger ones. So do I order one and wait a week? Nah. I had some huge rivnuts I found I'll never use. I drilled the threads out and made it slightly smaller than the hose. Then I reshaped it to be rounded and then polished it. Voila. Trim ring in 5 minutes. Lol

                            Hi Travis,

Where did you get those vertical brackets that hold the motor ring to the rails in the hull? I cannot find them on any of the suppliers' web sites. I need two right now, but would buy four just to have extras.

As far as I know, you have to buy the whole mount from kintec to get them.
