Happy Birthday Kent. Enjoy the 4-0! I'm a few years behind, hitting 35 later on in the year.

The veneer looks really sharp, these little details are really making the boat fantastic.

The pickups are certainly uber tight. I honestly didn't think you would be able to fit the pickups that far back on the hull. Looks like it was a pain.

Is the maple leaf and Mystic "M" logo on the ESC plate going to get the same red detail like the original design? or leave as is?

Yup, doing great. Real busy with the pups and all but still found time to top 100mph with 'cheap Chinese equipment' lol.
Hope you had a great weekend.

Just wanted to add in case that comment on the 'products' came across as snippy that now that goal has been accomplished it is time to get going on my LMT powered HPR.

Thank you for the wishes, looks like you got some catching up to do. (5years) funny how time flys. The leaf and M is still going to be red and the mystic chrome to match all the bolts. She should look really cool once done.

              Hello,
Everything is now complete and ready for the painters (she's off today) Was getting the inlays ready to glue in and also cut the tear drops for the pickups, and installed the rudder. I ordered a different pull pull system for the rudder, but didn't like the look of it and the way it grinded. Basically going back to the MHZ system with the wires coming out where the rudder attaches. Its actually a much smoother running system. By the time shes comes back from the painters, I should have all the electronics sorted.

Hey Kent, this looks amazing! So inspiring. That water inlet is the cleanest I've ever seen, that's some skill! My question is regarding your hydraulic rudder system... How do you make sure that no water gets into the holes/tubes for the rudder cables? As far as I know, those "feet" have holes in them, then you drill similar holes in the hull, but how do you attach the tubing?

Thank you for the compliment! :)
There shouldn't be any problems with water entering the hull, as there will be 2 tubes feeding the wires and they are both above water level. The Hydraulic arms are attached by 2 screws also, and they will be sealed from the inside of the hull. I will have a look for a pic on the first build to show you how I did it.

This was sorta what I could find from the old build. Actually worked amazing with that steering. It don't look 100% scale but it don't look bad either. With a setup like this I would pick performance over looks. Regarding water tight, it was the rudder that was the trouble maker on the other build :)

Oh wait, so those hydraulics are just dummies then and you have a secondary cable system like in that pic? If that's the case, it makes more sense now. I was wondering when the cables actually run through the hydraulic arms.

Correct! It's a very stable system that way. They have been modified by some, but I wasn't going to attempt. I just wish MHZ would make a system like HPR

All soldered up, and waiting for the hull to come back from the painters. Any day now :) Should be very exciting!

Ok guys coming to an end... went to painters yesterday just to check, and WOW! what an amazing job. pics do no justice and the phone photos are even worse. But shes a nice deep candy red with metallic flakes "almost anodized red" . I think this is going to look awesome!! just one more clear coat and I can bring her home!
