Sorry I had not answered your questions. I have him at just a shade over 70mph Rick but there is more to come. I do not think this is a 100mph boat though. If I am lucky I will get 80 and that will be about it with the factory sponsons on. To go faster I think I would have to make some SAW type sponsons.
My strut is at 20mm but a guy that races them told me he has his at 17mm Rick.
Have you started working on yours yet? That ice will melt soon I and we will get some pics and vids of yours on the water I hope.

I'll jump in here, as Paddy knows I am slowly accumulating a pile of dimensions from him to produce a Balsa/thin-ply rigger that is based on this hull.
I am after a couple of dimensions from the rest of you that have and run these boats.
Where is the CoB, centre of balance, aft of the sponsons.
Given that the sponsons are well forward I am buggered if I can see how you get the CoB to be 1"- 2" behind the sponson once you load in the powerplant and running gear.

Speaking of power for this hull, is a Feigao (?)XL on 4S (4000mAh) a viable option to get me to 60+mph ??
As an alternative there are the Aquacraft power packages that I can choose from here , or I can go for the El-cheapo gear from honky kong

        I am watching

Simon below are some test results of one of my Xzess 2's that might help you.

          4s PolyQuest LiPo, Feigao 7xl, Octura X640 = 90.3 kph
          4s PolyQuest LiPo, Feigao 7xl, Octura X642 = 94.7 kph
          4s PolyQuest LiPo, Feigao 6xl, Octura X640 = 96 kph
          4s PolyQuest LiPo, Feigao 6xl, Octura X642 = 104 kph

I think with more testing I could get more out of it. I know it is a different rigger but the weight of the Mr. Krabs is about the same and Mr. Krabs is more aerodynamic so I think 60+ with a Feigao is not too hard to do. I will answer your other questions and send the pictures you requested in the email after I sleep.

Hi Paddy I can not believe how a company can make such a nice boat and have the worst instructions in all of RC history and I hope they read this I have gone through the CD and there is so much info that is missing. Like, where is the CG and what angle do you set the sponson at. do you run this rigger with any tow in 3/32" on each side might make it track down the straits better. how far back is the rudder be hind the prop. they set their strut at 13mm thats 7mm less than you paddy. Have you tried this height or is the CD that far out to lunch? If I knew how to I would send a link of this to them and tell them to have a good read because supporting your product is good for sales. They should have a look at CMD and roadrunner and firefighter boats instructions and get on the bandwagen. Now I have this off my chest I feel much better. No Paddy I have not started mine yet. I'm tying to get all my ducks in a row first because I only want to make this Krab one time. I have e-mailed them and they do not get back or they say we do not remember selling you that boat. I guess they for got they have other dealers around the world selling them. maybe the chinese will copy this boat like they have done to some of there other boats and then we could get some decent instructions. someone send a link to them for me so we can get them on this page to answer our questions. I'm sure Slim has some for them I know I do. man I feel good now. So paddy try to put your strut at 13mm like they say and let me know if the CD is good or bad hey the only thing you can get is more speed te he

              For SimonO

Simon here are the pictures you requested. I decided to put them on here as it may help others in the future. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

              Top

              Bottom

              Inside

              Outside

              Front

              Rear

To answer your question about CoB (CoG depending on what school you went to) my CoG is 5 1/4 inches behind the rear most part of the sponson that touches the water. I have done a little over 70mph with it like that and to me it is still running too wet. There is no sign of the sponsons leaving the water at anytime. It will run into the wind like this and will handle rough water very well for a rigger. I have started moving things towards the transom and will let you know where I end up with CoB. I am not wanting to blow over but it just runs quite wet and I think this is robbing me of some speed.

I agree about the instructions Rick. While the finish of the boat is quite good I would expect better for the money you have to pay. The join line leaves a lot to be desired. To make them look really nice you have to paint them. I will do that one day.
I will try the 13mm strut setting one day but a guy (Andrewg on RRR) told me 17mm is best. I have so much testing to do and no time to do it. I can not wait for retirement to come. I will be the oldest kid at the lake.

Still waiting on my order from OSE Andy. Steven was waiting for one of the items to come in.

There is nothing gay about flying a glider mate. Pure rocket science required for that. You will not believe me but last time flying I had a fight with a Hawk. I am not sure if he wanted to mate with the glider or tear it to pieces but he can not loop like me. The only way I could lose him was to bring the plane down and land it near me. I think next time I might give him a taste of Graupner folding prop and see how he likes that.

No Rick, I put the strut in the middle but I would put a little in there if I was doing it again. I had to overcome prop walk another way. This is where some instructions would have helped.

                            My Video of Mr Krabs

Ok Video of my very slow runs with Mr Krabs

Some very slow runs from Mr Krabs about ½ too ¾ throttle after wrecking my 45mm and 43mm plastic props after disintegrating them a few weeks ago due to over revving – Hence the very slow runs with the 42mm 2 blade prop waiting now for the metal ones to be delivered

                            Setup: 42mm 2 blade prop, 4S Lipo, 100A ESC, 3300RPV motor.

Over 1 too 2 second runs and I run out of room crashing into the end wall as I found out a few weeks ago, saying that I crashed into the side wall yesterday and had to replace the carbon fibre sponson struts again.

                            All comments welcomed

You need a bigger pond - the batteries aren't even warm yet.

Ya slim you need a bigger pond or a smaller boat one like a mini hydro were you could run flat out in the pond you have. Then when you can get to a bigger pond then take the Krab
