    Simon,
I will get you the "off the table measurements" over the weekend. I think I still have to send you more pictures too. I posted the V-Balancer and cables for 4s and 6s yesterday. It is airmail again so you should get it next week. That means you can try the batteries if you want. I guess you know about low voltage shut off setting of the esc.

    Slim,
Good to see you posting. I hope all is well with you and Mr. Krabs.

    Old Guy,
    Where are you?

    Andy,
The little woman is going to buy a new motor for the SAAB. I ordered another mobile phone yesterday... on ebay. The woman in SA is going to arrange to send my new brushless electric bike. I will blow your Jap crap to the weeds. Move over Harley riders (oh sorry, that is you guys fixing your bikes on the side of the road). Here comes Paddy on his e-bike (soon to be e-chopper). As you know the week started off bad but it looks like a good ending.

    Douggie,
Nice to see Mrs Douggie and the eldest grandson. You have a great family, and a fleet of boats to die for. How is that UL-1 coming along?

    Chuck,
Did I propose marriage to Doug Smock yesterday?

Paddy has a lot of info and data on this hull, he has experience on the water too.
He has freely admitted that he has not got this one perfect, he will and is working hard on that I can assure you all.
I want other opinions and data too, this way I get a big picture and can draw and build my rigger from that knowledge.

That sound ok as far as my calculations go. There are some who have it a bit further back especially for SAW runs.

That measurement 25mm is all I needed to get this drawing underway.
              BIG thanks.

This statement is a little contradictory. Weight forward will load the sponsons and allow the tail to be loose and hop/bounce. Moving the CoB aft among other adjustments will stop tail hop.

LOL. Simon my job gets in the way. I work in the afternoon and night. Anyway we have a long weekend for 8 Hour Day this weekend so tomorrow I will get your measurements and more pictures.
I hope to test Mr. Krabs with some weight further back in the morning. I just want to see if the sponsons stop running so wet.

It is very interesting to see how far back the CoB is on this hull. Slim has his 120mm back and yours is 140+ so far.
This equates to a lot more than 10-14% of the afterplane, which is the figure that is trotted out time and again for hydros and riggers.
FWIW My hydro runs 10% rear and is fine, my rigger is now at 20% and there is no sign of frontal lift-off
You and slim are both over 20% and still not blowing over.
I believe that 2deg dihedral on those sponson may be a part of that, I will not have that dihedral on my one.

Just to clarify Slim's answer to my rear boom question. I take it you can not fit a 4S pack under there, so the pack sits aft of that through hull boom.

Look forward to your results Paddy.

I have the hardware nearly finished now.

                    Simon,
I am just back from the pond. First let me tell you the single change I made to the boat. I moved the receiver pack from touching the rear of the rear boom to just in front of the motor. Let me clarify that statement. The rear of the pack was level with the front of the motor. Another way of saying it is I moved the pack back 90mm. This moved the CoG to 145mm. There was no difference to on water speed (106kph with an M545 prop) but I will say that if the water has not chopped up I know it would have gone faster. The packs were still warming up and the second run was faster than the first. It is usually take 5 to 6 runs to get the best speed. I need a better battery warmer. I only got the 2 runs as the water went from like glass to bloody rough in a very short time.
The 4s packs will not fit under the rear boom however my YGE controller will so that is where it goes. I love that big controller. It is always just warm to the touch even if the battery or motor are hot.
After a coffee I will pull the turn fin off so I can get the "on table" measurements you need. It might be a few hours before I post as the wife has friends coming and she will not let me use the table for my boats if we have visitors.

I am buying second hand lipos because my job has gone from 50 to 60 hours a week down to 30 hours a week. A car yard we used to do security for cancelled security because they are not selling cars. Also the Thunder Power lipos are really good quality and have many uses left in them. That txboatpilot is a gentleman.
