After talking to Andy I went and purchased some Pool Noodles or as some call them Pool Spaghetti to stop my Krabs sinking. I will post some pics when it is complete. I think this is too much boat to loose to the pool monster and to tell you the truth mine has had just the sponsons poking out of the water on one occasion.
Paddy do not tell my wife I got Krabs from the U.S. there is just some things she does not need to know. Now if she keeps watching here new TV all will be good Slim good to see you back I'm up worrking for 2 weeks let us know how it goes if it is not good call me on feb 22

Paddy, stop using the speedmaster bushes. They run out quickly, but not only that; when they're spinning like their designed, they create double the drag as opposed to using the octura lead teflon bearings, being as the stub shaft is spinning as well as the bush.
Also pool noodles will take on a very small amount of water, however you can take them out and dry them in the hot water cylinder cupboard. Or if you cant pull them out shove the whole boat in the hot water cylinder cupboard

Tyler you are a legend. I will get the Octura bushes and give them a run.
That is also a good idea about how to dry the flotation and other things. It saves on electricity also as I do not have to fire a heater up to dry them.

One of the reasons I am a bit depressed at the moment:

See photo at the bottom (still have not managed to insert a photo in the text)

The CF tube has arrived, I just need to pick it up tomorrow, if anyone has a non FUBARed Mr Krabs and knows the dimensions of the tube it would be most appreciated otherwise I will use the old bits and measure them but not sure if I will obtain an accurate reading. I am thinking of using the collars on the outside of the sponsons before I use screws with penny washers, not sure.

Still waiting for pop’s to be delivered and also not sure what to do with the turn fin.

Anyway have a good weekend all, see you soon.

Hey Slim I want to see that big English smile back on your face. I feel responsible for your depression. Aussies and the English have been teasing each other for years and so I thought why let the tradition stop with us Not really, I just have a twisted sense of humor but I would never want to upset anyone. If ever I say anything that seems a bit off to you just think to yourself "The old fool is at it again" or "it must be a full moon in Tasmania again".

                        Serious mode on;

Let’s get things straight Paddy, I am not upset with you or anyone else on this site apart from myself, I had a bad week and when comments were made about being an engineer I thought “oh no not again” because a car thread I posted on found out I was an engineer and I was attacked several times, simply because people thought they could get one over on me and they did and they knew more than me. I did not find out how to rectify the problem because all they done was offend me, so I learnt the hard way, although I am an engineer I do not design cars, I just know how they work and wanted some advice on how to fix something, unfortunately the English are very arrogant and assume engineers know how everything works. We don’t that’s why I posted up on the site to ask questions to help me and why I post on this site because I do not know how to set my Mr Krabs up, I need advice and all you chaps have been so nice and helpful to me. I appreciate every comment made, the negative ones are better than the positive ones because people are being honest and you get the answers you need, it’s as simple as that. I theorise about things but I am usually wrong, the experts are the people that have tried things and learnt from their mistakes (you guys) so I need to listen and get it right before making the same.

I summary, I don’t know what I am doing, and need help.

                        Serious mode off

Please feel free to take the P!$$ out of me as much as you like, I give as much as I take + more.

I am now happy because the CF rod has arrived but the 8mm is out of tolerance measuring 8.164mm dia in places, I need to take Mr Krabs to work tomorrow and take some off the dia.

I was hoping to make some video for you chaps but the BEC has not arrived and the props have not either.

Old Guy, I enclose some pics of my rudder assembly as a do not do what I did, go back to the beginning of this thread and look at Paddy’s photos, copy this because I would do the same if I had a clean slate. My arrangement works but it was a nightmare to fit, Mr Krabs was never designed to take a rear fitting strut and rudder. Mine has been temporarily modified with additional carbon fibre because I could not get her to turn, eventually she will lose this when I have the turn fin sorted.

                        Best Regards for all

8.164mm dia in places Perhaps they were made in Australia. Quality control is just a word in a lot of factories. It is all about the $$$ now.

I agree with Paddy 100%. They do not have the proper equipment for accurate measurements so the QA departments must rely on the tonal resonance of the tubes.

Just a thought slim how much down force do you think you are getting from the strut bracket sticking up like that????? a lot of little thing can add up to a big thing. So I see 2 thing I would look at, rudder and turn fin. does your boat run ass down?? if so it will not turn good with the krabs haveng the rear sponson under it
