Hey Ken, I just got a Axial Yeti 1/10 scale Rock racer, it came with 4 helmeted heads. 2 open face and 2 full face, they're about 1" dia. If you think you might be able to use them give me your address and I'll send them to you.Comment

Make-a-Wake, thanks for the link. Pretty sure I saw those when I first started checking. Going to give making my own a go. I just bought some Super Sculpey. After you shape it, put it in the oven and it hardens, then you can file, sand or drill it, have not tried it yet. Going to use it for the life jackets and maybe the helmet-heads. Chris, if my DIY helmet-head comes out crappy maybe I'll get one from you and make a mold of it to make a few of them, will let you know. The body will pretty much be covered up by the life jacket so don't think I need to dress them. Shawn the arms I have a few ideas to make them look like jump suit sleeves, lets see how that goes as well. Hoping to get some of that started the next few days.

Hey Ken, I finally took the time to watch the Marlin id. Well done. Must feel good to see that come to fruitition. Way cool. Subs always intrigue me. Had one show up at the scale clubs annual regatta, scared the heck out of me when the canon went off. LOLComment

Thanks Shawn. A canon on a sub?! That's different.
Insomnia strikes me, not much else to do at 4am, watch Youtube videos.

Been playing with my amateur carving & shaping capabilities. Started on the helmet-head. First one was too small proportionally (first pic on the right), same with the second helmet. I have a larger block of wood clamped up to make the helmet a bit bigger so number three will be started.
Not that you will even see the torso on these as they will be covered by the life jackets, I used the Dremel and sanding blocks and gave the one figure a more manly shaped, no boobs. The helmet-head in the second picture is my second try, the one on the left in the previous picture. There is no neck right now so the helmet will fit better later.Attached FilesComment

I made a paper template around the torso for the life jacket. Rolled out the Super Sculpey, placed a 1/8 spacer on either side and rolled it flat with a rolling pin to get an even thickness.
Not sure yet if I'm going to use the Scupley stuff as a life jacket or find some foamy type material to use. So still in the experimental stages.Comment

Using the template, cut the Sculpey to shape and fitted around the torso. I think not bad for the first one. What do you think? I would still have to shape it some more. You put the Sculpey in the oven for 15 minutes at 275 degrees and that hardens it. When it is hard you can file, drill or cut it if need be. I would have to put the arms on after the life jacket is on for final assembly.Comment

Very creative, so you would have to paint the body figure first then put on the jacket to bake.......then paint it?NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE:http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=
