After striking out a few ways, yup, go for the glue method. With what I cut off for scrap I'll be able to experiment some later on.

I am a fan of these Ken http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...hp?prod=dh-367 some of mine are even metal versions but these work fine. Just get the right size and go heavy duty. I am sure the LHS has em for you.Comment

Those seem to be the most secure. Figures, not in my stock. I do have the ones with the nylon cup that pops on the ball, or clevis ones. Guess I need to place a small order.
For the push rod coming through the transom, I see most boats with the rubber boot. I happen to have a few packs of these vintage ones... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dubro-214-Wa...-/301160243529 I only ask these small picky questions since I'm not 100% sure what to expect with this type of boat.Comment

The servo brackets in the first pic came with the hardware I ordered. A friend cut and bent some aluminum sheet into a bracket. After more cutting, drilling and trimming, I have my steering servo mounted. I added some backing plates for the strut and trim tabs as well. I'm going to have to add a stiffener on the back side of the servo bracket as it flexes a bit.Last edited by Ken_NJ; 07-05-2014, 04:59 PM.Comment

Tail end of the boat.
Finished up on the turbo scoops as Dumas calls them. Three coats of resin and filler, wet sanded with 220, 600 and 1000 grit. The insides will be painted black as well as the deck area underneath where they will be glued to. From what I can tell from any pictures, they are open like that.
Another model... http://www.performanceboats.com/othe...a-replica.html
After building & sanding these, would have been easier and less time consuming to make a mold to make them.Last edited by Ken_NJ; 07-06-2014, 05:18 PM.Comment

Having builders block today figuring out how to mount the batteries. Some pics of the cockpit area. Have the floor and dash done, need to be glued in still, later.
Picked up a wrestler from Walmart. Seven inches tall like I was looking for, but not looking like a driver. His body is the same size as the 6 inch figure I already have but he has longer legs. Not happy, bringing it back.Last edited by Ken_NJ; 07-06-2014, 11:14 PM.Comment

Ebay find.
40 inch Dumas hull, says Cigarette but what is it really? Looks closer to the forward deck of the real Kaama than the one I'm building.

Will have something on Sunday.
Can the cover on these connectors be removed without butchering it? How? I tried sliding an oversized tube around the bullet thinking it would release something but no-go. I'd like to take them part cleanly. Any ideas?Attached FilesComment

Hobbywing Seaking V3 Marine ESC
New version of Seaking 130A-HV "V3" is the way to go. if you live in the US, suggest to get it from Hobbywing authorized dealer otherwise hong kong stuff won't be convered if you have any problem. I had once issue with the ESC, contacted aliexpress, took me more than months to resolve issue plus shipping cost was more than 100bucks (round trip... it won't worth it man.. just got the new V3 and works flawless, highly recommended. http://www.falconsekido.com/collecti...3-esc-for-boat
Seaking 180A V3 Marine ESC, or Seaking 130A HV V3 Marine should be good. with free shipping and warranty item, still less cost than other guys.
found the user manual here.

Sleek looking Alfa. I already have the ESC, Swordfish Pro 240.
Kinda slid off topic here, figured out how to get them apart, hammer and a punch.
My to do list...
Mount batteries - Done
Mount the receiver (thanks Shawn!)
Changing the battery connectors to 5.5mm bullets
Add bullet connectors to the ESC
Turn fins
Run cooling lines
Getting closer to the water!Last edited by Ken_NJ; 07-19-2014, 06:53 PM.Comment
