Just a link from Google Image Search, no clue what they are. I see that there is a blue cat that says Skater, so assumed that was the one he was talking about.

I searched Bonzi's hulls, but didn't see a cat hull.

Blue Skater is a Thunderbolt hull. There are also HPR hulls, MHZ, Aeromarine and so on and so forth in there. They are just builds they have done for folks.

So, I hit 49.6 MPH and ran for about 18 minutes. Still sputtering a bit on the top end, but I'm sure I'll get that dialed in soon enough, for now, staying rich. Only 5.4 mph shy of advertised speed. Not bad. Had about 1/4 tank left when I was done. Wasn't wide open on the throttle and didn't run it out too far. I kept thinking of what it would take for my little Villain rescue boat to go get it and bring it in.

Nobody asking stupid questions today... Just a guy in a skirt (not a kilt), playing bagpipes down by the dock at the bird island. Moderately well, but not really. It was very strange. It's a nice place to run, just too much wierd stuff from trailer park island.

LOL at the bagpipes and kilt!

Sounds like you enjoyed the run, im sure you will hit advertised speed once you lean it a little, it makes a big difference.

So the big question - is it staying Gas or you going to FE it

That *IS* the big question. Right now, I say it's staying gas. It's a ton of fun, feels relatively fast and runs for 20+ minutes at a time. Although it's noisy and limits my run times and locations, I'm really happy with it.

To make it an FE, it will take either a single 7HP+ motor setup or twin 3.5+ hp motors and new strut setups. To put out that kind of power, it would take a min of 10 or 12s, 2p 80c and I'll want to have second battery setup. Right now the cost on the cells is impractical, let alone the grand or more on the high watt motor/esc setup.

*SO* I'm planning to wait till the cell/pack costs drop considerably and are that of what 20c packs are now... about half. A single HV 240a and a big Neu or Lehner in a season or two will most likely be the final config on this boat.

Nice. I didn't think of going with a lower cost alternative. I had Hydra & Neu in mind.

The information I was working with was for 40c cells. ~$90/6pack x 8

~$350 for an ESC/ Motor setup makes it much more appealing. At that cost, I would be doing them as twins!

Either way, I'm going to wait for costs to drop a bit before tearing into this new boat. Can't bring myself to tear it up just yet. =)

Since you have a place to run it, there's no reason not to keep it gas.

The people of the pond will likely not want you rinnin there every weekend for the next year, so at some point the switch may have to happen.

Keep it gas and get another for FE

If you want to make it a little quieter still, plumb a water fitting into the tip of each exhaust, I dropped about 5DB by doing this on my RCMK

I'm running from a commercial dock on the inner coastal water way... no known noise restrictions... just a nazi local pd about parking at the dock. They look at me funny when I tell them my boat is in the back of the truck.

(Parking is for boaters only and I technically qualify)

What I'm starting to wonder is if I can put a ski rope on this thing and tow my kayak with it.

                              * UPDATE *

I was told asking for a use IV bag was disgusting against disposal regulations as they are technically considered medical waste. They are also exposed to some potentially nasty microbiological organisms... Lol.. Guess I'll buy a new one.

I've been looking for them and coming up dry, I tried eBay, but the best I found was vinyl and polypropolyne drain bags and I don't think they will withstand fuel exposure. Wouldn't want a blob of melted fuel soaked goo in the hull. EEW.

Any link appreciated. Should be able to find them shipped, cheap I would think.
