The good news is the boat durring testing yesterday reached 80.2 mph on gps breaking the current t offshore speed trial record of 76.9 , i dont think was a 300 ft 80 mph run but it did meet 80mph. Bad news is my boat occilates and becomes unstable at the transom leading to very scetchy passes. Durring one pass i tried correcting the instability by throttling full at about 50 mph causing the boat to blow over smashing the hatch and 100% submerssion of all electrics. Luckely floatation kept it up. There was water inside my Turnigy 180s ,servo, lipos, bec.......... ................. Good news is nothing burned up The only thing I can figure is by submerging everything at such a fast rate causes the power to ground out into the lake eliminating any dead shorts circuts. My hatch seems to be good enouph for L.A. next week and I think having left and right rotating props on each side is causing the instability so next week I will have 2 left props on one side and 2 right ratating on the other and hope she straightens up. I thing it will gain some speed too if i can eliminate the speed wobbles

Right on Randy!!! Good luck at the SAWS.... can't wait to hear how ya do!!! and sounds like you had a close one for sure.... my prayers are with ya that everything holds together with the BIG RUN!!!!!!!!!
Finished bench testing , everything is ok. Had to drill holes in esc's to drain water, unscrewing heat sinks ended up being more difficult ( there not water proof anyway) . Switched my rotation on center props and now she is allmost ready. One of my cables got tweaked out so now I must locate a left turn .150 , think I may replace them all. Will need to call fdm tuesday and have them overnighted( if can get ahold of my cable guy) Also after the blow over I kept the boat submerged and removed all lipos to prevent a dead short, this may have saved my electrics too.

I saw the boat run at the SAWs running two packs of 6S1P in the boat it was real impressive to hear and see 1515 1y SCREAMING on 6S. Wish our insurance wiould allow the boat to run 6S2P on each motor. It would be a sight to see twisting four 47MM Props at 44,800 RPM! great Job!!
PS I have your extension cord.

LOL...That is my lucky extention cord use it very carfully, it may increase boat speed too much. Will get it from you next time.

I was kind of crossed at first when the rule book card was pulled and it clearly stated " unlimited # of motors and 10,000 mah max" but didn't drive 130 miles in a motorhome for nothing so I sucked it up at the thought of squeezing the life from my lipo's and made a few passes. My best 2 passes were 79 & 78 with only half of my batteries. I really wanted to run a couple passes with 6s 1p per motor but was denied due too insurance reasonse . Running on 6s 40c 5000mah per motor is minimum requierment for my boat and running basically 2500mah per motor I managed to beat Q offshore record of 73.something........I guess that kind of made it cool but not for long. A couple hours later the record was upped again to 84 mph. I knew there would be no chance for a record with my boat unless something is done about battery capacities and limits on the # of cells. I really believe that pre-cooling my electrics with ice water and having my capaciters water cooled saved my esc's , if they are anything like Castle esc's....lol....

Mark Grim's only good point was that if some one has too much power for there ability, they could run too fast and slide up the bank and hit some one at a high speed and hurt some one. But it could happen to any one and it has to Jorge and my self and we are sorta good at what we do. And NEVER hit any one.
This is the boat that hit the bank and did go flying in to the pond on the other side. luckily no one was in the way and did not get hurt. It was at about 130MPH and another run.
