Recieved motors and cooling jackets so now as soon as I get a chance I will begin a mount build ........After mount is in I will send it to my paint guy for a complete transom re- paint .... Want to make sure there are no ugly paint indescrepancies so my buyer is happy

This will be the approximant area of the motors........time to make some side plates and cut and tap some aluminum......after mount is mocked up I will disassemble and sand edges and give it a clean look...
P.S..I could not get him on the flame upgrade...lol

I got a ton of work done tonight and I am 100% happy with the way this mount is turning out ! I have added aluminum at the bottom of the side plates so it will give the mount a great surface area to epoxy. It will also be removable.....
Motors are spaced 5'' and hatch fits with 1/2'' room to spair..I am definatly keeping this design to rebuild for anyone who wants one...They will be expensive though

My goal for today was to get the mount ankered so I can disassemble tomarro and finish epoxieing.......Next will be to finish details on mount and bolt 2 aluminum square bars at top and bottom of motor plate so epoxie will not take all of the mounts inward flex( very little, but I like to overbuild...)....Waiting on stuffing tubes and collets still.....

              Finished mount !

Hands down a $200 mount . If I ever build another twin conquest I would definatly roll with this one I will resin the edges of the cf later on.

I ran into a major problem, the CG of the boat loaded with 6s 4p 5000mah......The problem is battery placement...The forward packs may be placed on a flat spot in the sponson allowing to secure the batts with velcro directly to the floor. In order for the boat to CG the rear packs have been placed next to the servo mount, a really bad area in front of the collets, if they were to mangle it wouldn't be good.....so the only real alternative would be to remove the old sponson motormounts and a battery tray needs to be built...........I gues I am stuck for now.......

Sorry about the bad news Brian , here are a few pics for you......What kind of a paint shop tries to send out paint with bubbles and finger prints and sands deep into the fiber glass then turns around and recomends that I send it to you that way ! What a lousey buiseness ! And he thinks that i am going to turn my truck over to change out and paint a quarter pannel ? Give me a call what u want to do or post here .. Thanks man

Everything you did looks awesome man! Sounds like a pretty lousy paint shop

I just lost an Ebay bidding war on a 43in Areomarine Popeyes cat that I was inspired by this build to try to get.

Thanks Jacked1 , I am really upset over it. All the time spent building and the guy digs into it probably with a rotary power sander

I don't understand why he would even think to push a sander off the transom plane and let it round out a corner like that ...he must of been drunk with one eye open hanging by a swinging rope ...I'll give you a call in the am ...try not to sweat it much ...I'd only pay him for the hatch, and that's if he gets his finger prints out of the clearcoat from what you were telling me.
