On both of mine, I use the existing outer mounting hole for the lower hole of the UL-1 bracket, and then drill a top hole...bend slightly once the fin is on.

Thanks, I just thought I might break something if I bend the bracket while it is already on the hull, guess the hull with the doubler is stronger than I thought!

I went further and added an aluminum plate on top of the plywood doubler.

Doby, please let me know if I should post these pictures and comments in a separate thread, I don't want to clutter up your thread, thanks!
I had to notch the rear motor support ring in order for it to seat correctly without unnecessarily enlarging holes on the side motor rails to find a spot for good/proper ring support. This worked and the collet to cable alignment is perfect! Very pleased, TFL did a good job with the angle of the tube.DSCN4574_4905.jpg

Well, I tried to avoid bending the bracket on the hull, and using pliers didn't work. Not having the proper tools like a table vise is not a good thing! I shimmed it with a FG prototype board. All is good, inside I used G-10 FG for a second doubler. DSCN4602_4972.jpg DSCN4606_4975.jpg DSCN4603_4973.jpg DSCN4609_4978.jpg
Doby, excuse me for cluttering up your thread, question is where you put the JB Weld for the stuffing tube, how much sending /roughing up was it necessary for the JB Weld to "grab" the bottom and the brass tube?

well my stuffing tube almost fell out of the boat so no prob getting to it....I sanded the tube till it was shiney etc....taped around the hole as doby did in this thread somewhere just roughed up that area with sand paper and poured the jb,,,he has pics of it on here somewhere

Guys...no problem cluttering up the thread with good info and ideas..I'm just trying to keep the P-Spec and the P-Sport stuff in their respective threads..

As long as its in the right thread, clutter away

I used a #60 grit sandpaper (i think) on the tube as well as the hull...I prefer rougher surfaces to JB weld onto. If you look at the P-Spec thread...somewhere around the begining is a pic of the JB weld area I used.

I like that epoxy job somebody did where they CAed a oring down around the tube and poured the jb in the oring. That looked pretty slick, I think I'll try that on my next one.
