Does look like it's going to be a little on the breezy side. At least it's supposed to be coming from the south which gives a little shelter on the front straight.Comment

I was pretty impressed by the number of folks roamaing around in the pits. Now if we can just set the hook and get some of them involved....Comment

Just thinking out loud here - if we had a dedicated "demo" boat (or two) it may spark prospective members get their whistles wet, so to speak, and generate added interest/enthusiasm in joining the club.Comment

Good thougth Chris. A couple of old SV27's would probably fit the demo category really well.Comment

I thought about that as well. I may get one of Bens (FC) 26" bling rockets and set it up w/ a proboat 1800. That could work as well. SVs would be good as long as there set up to handle and not for speed. I think Brian (Encore) was mentioning he had a few?Comment

Also, we had started discussing a few things and theyve slipped through the cracks a bit. the next meet, we need to discuss the possibility and participation of members of having a swap meet. Inviting other clubs and people etc. We can not only start a thread on OSE, RC groups and any other online venue, but also put flyers in some of the local shops.
Another thing we discussed was setting up another course (north and south) along the east bank that would be removeable for days like today. We could do it for a minimal cost (a few concrete blocks and some pool noodles) some of which we may be able to acquire for free and a few floats that would be held a foot or so below the water w/ a hook system on them. We could then easily fasten floats to them for our run day and remove them at the days end so they dont interfere w/ the kayak club on Saturdays. Even though the bank is a bit more challenging over there, it would make for much better running for days like today.Comment

Still working on cooking vids here at home but have started a new thread here in our club area. Check out "run day reports" when you have a chance.Comment

Self righting would be a good thing with an inexperienced driver at the controls. It would save a lot of wear n tear on the trolling motor and battery. As it is we pulled some serious amp hours out of the new battery yesterday ourselves with all that wind. I started it charging after getting home and the amp input had'nt dropped a bit when I woke up this morning. I didn't want to leave it running while at work so stopped it and will continue after getting home this evening.Comment
