well I guess I'll chime in here. I've raced different RC machines, and ran organized racing for several years, and there is no reason we can't run organized racing at Ackerman. We just have to put it together. I would say first off we must have a start time for practice,( boat tuning, set up ,ect) and a start time for the first heat. Then set a heat running order. A computer program with a PA would be great also. It would be a start.
Bill, you should go with us to the waveblasters lake next month. Its a nice facility and it will give you a chance to run what ever boats you think you may want to run at the nats. The reason I want to go is for time on their course and a chance to test with other guys to see how your set up compares and to hopefully find something that might help my boats run better. Its really not a bad drive over. It takes me 3 hours from my house at redington shores. you guys in the bradenton/sarasota area will probably get there quicker.
The scale guys will be on the lake every sunday until about 1030 or 11. after that the fe guys get to play.

I agree, to be organized and know whats running when would be fantastic. Just the short time Ive been there, a few times Ive taped up with others to find out 2 or three others were launching or other boat testing was going on.
We have tried many times to work with the Brandon guys. It just won't work. They have a beautiful venue and all the ammenities. But, they have no tolearance for electric. I for one will not attend any more events there.
Ditto x2...Dont make me go there...
Re: Waveblasters, we should schedule so no conflict with Ack
Re: Racing at Ack. We should. That has been suggested many times, not sure why no follow-up. We dont have enough members, yet, to have a strong showing if a couple cant make it.
I apologize. I thought you were trying to set up running in the same event as the Nitro/Gas guys. We know that doesn't work. If we can get access to the Brandon site for an all FE race, that would be terrific.
Glad to hear all the positive comments about racing from the newer guys. No, I don't call you "Newbs" because none of you are.
Setting up three rounds of heat racing at Ackerman is fairly easy. It's just there will be no time allotted for testing setups, etc. Although before and after the schedule heats it's just fine.
Here are the classes I think would have at least a 3 boat minimum to run.
Oopps, I am going to run out of characters for this message. Will put into a PDF and attach.
Here are the dates that the waveblasters run their regular meets.
January - 9th, 23rd
February - 6th, 20th
March - 6th, 20th
April - 3rd, 17th
May - 1st, 15th, 29th
June - 12th, 26th
We will have to go on a weekend that they are not running. The scale guys have the water every sunday morning until about 10 or 11. On the off weekends, several of the FE guys usually show up to play as well.
The 27th has my vote since I am planning to go to daytona on the 12th.
For the Feb Ack, why dont we do a emulate a race situation for those that are interested in racing. The truth is, those of us who like to race have been laying back so the new members can get experience running on a course, tuning their boats and running boats that dont necessarily have a class. That being said, the new members have brought a lot of enthusiasm and support for what the original members were trying to develope. And we are glad to have them. Accordingly, for those that would like a race situation, I propose the following schedule:
9:00 - 10:00: Seminar: Hugh to lead a discussion regarding etiquette, strategy, prep, etc..
10:15, on the clock for P mono
10:45, on the clock for any twins on 4S ( I read the post )
11:15, on the clock for LSH
11:45, on the clock for OPC
12:15, on the clock for Q offshore
12:45, on the clock for LSO
1:15, on the clock for 'run what yu brung' all out BTW..
I will volunteer to ( whatever its worth) stand with a racer for each class.

Was going to say I'll second that but looks like I got here too late.
Oh well, long as I'm here... pending weather conditions and what Chris might have on his plate how would some of our group feel about an unscheduled ack attack this weekend? The way it's looking now the winds will be MUCH more favorable than they were last Sunday. (still a little cool with highs in the mid 60's)
I still have a couple of props I'm wanting to try on the Miller and thinking I'd like to try the big cat with props spinning out instead of in.
