I do not think that hull will qualify as an 1/8th. Very strict rules on how much variance there can be from the full size boat.

I sent him an email after reading this inquiring on whether it was legal or not. Here's a copy n paste of the reply

"Ok the lightest one I have is just under 8lbs the boat is legal and is a scale model of the USA1 and miss exsecutone. Don't know if that's spelled right but you get it. Our boat was molded off roger gordons scratch built wooden boat that did very well in dist3 in the late eigties and early 90s. I think it might even make a circus circus hydro as well not sure on that. I herd their is a clasic race boat web site where you can get some good info from. Hope this helps. At 7.6 lbs I'm pretty sure it's glass. I didn't notice til after I posted the pic above that his note said the photo was not one of his boats but was the right paint scheme.

Closer to the 74 Lincoln Thrift or 77 Charlie's Girl.

I have ro agree that it sure doesn't look like the one in the 1st photo or any of the ones labeled "executone" I found among the 1/8 scale plans pages at newton marine.

Sure is pretty in that photo though. Looks more like a "thunderboat" with that shovel nose. Did you find a new motor (the dummy one) for it yet?

There are a couple of different sources for the dummy motor kits. I'll worry about that a bit later. The version I have has a different tail fin and headrest than the one in the picture.
