He never said any of that to me in a 30 minute conversation. Looks like he/they are just trying to come up with excuses.
It appears we will not be welcome at their site so let's forget it. Anyone that wants to go to Akerman can. I can't meet Jeff to pick up the retrieve boat and RChippie for the trolling motor because my van is just barely running and I can't risk towing something. If ANYONE else could meet him somewhere that has a hitch and pick up our retrieve boat, that would be great. I would do it if I could.

Time for PLAN C.....whatever that might be!

Highndry, bring a couple of fishin poles to cast for retrieval. Too bad Kent has disappeared. He had an RC retrieve boat that worked pretty good. I'll try to get my boogie board retrieve boat modified so it works better.

Bill, would you have a place to store the retrieve boat? It would be great to have it close to Akerman each time we go there.

Wish I did but I don't (code enforcement would have it stickered in no time), or a way to tow it either. I have a fishin pole rigged already, but it's useless on the back straight.
If we could come up with the address there's always Archies lake with hippie on Sat. I'd say we have about 5 days to come up with a workable idea.

Osprey21 you're sorta close to Ackerman aren't you? It wouldn't hurt to go and recon the lake there to check it's condition. There was quite a bit of slime last time there and if it's gotten worse instead of better we'd be better off in St Pete.

I dont have the address of the lake. But it is directly across the street from Archies in a industrial park. Here is Archies address. If you call Archie he could give you the address . So you could map quest it. If you look at the little map. You turn on 42nd st , Then take your first left then turn right, then left again, then you can see the lake on your left .. Or you can go on 44th st & take your first right.. If your looking at the map. the lake we run on is the lake just to the left of 42nd st on the map. This lake is smaller than akerman. But there is no slime & no kayakers .

There are a lot of miths about Lipo batteries.
Lipo batteries do not burn from getting wet.
A car battery can put out more AMP's then our Lipos.
Has any one ever got hurt from putting there hands across a car battery??
When a dead boat is retrieved, Prop should always be facing away from you.
The driver of the dead boat must stay at the dock or on the drivers stand, with there radio ON and antenna up, until the said boat is in their hands.
I have seen many times, the driver turns OFF their radio when their dead boat is put into the retrieval boat, thinking that the person in the retrieval boat turned their boat OFF via the radio switch. And now the prop runs full speed in the retrieval boat.

External switches or plugs on the main batteries are NOT necessary if proper Safety rules are followed.
I do think that all boats should have an External radio switch.
Said switch - should be pull out to turn OFF

Those that don't run electrics have all of these myths built up in their heads. I think it's just an excuse to keep us out of their club and off their lake. Unbelievable.

OK guys, chime in. Looks like Akerman or Archie's Lake.

I'm so danged frustrated with this whole situation.

I called Archies and he says there is no address for the lake. But by the google map it looks easy enough to find.
Somebody make the call on where & when. I'll go along with it even if I do prefer Sundays.

                Hi Bill

It's very easy to find by the map i posted. if you cant find it, just go to archies across the street & they will give you directions.

Yeah, I'm fairly close - I'll run down there in a bit and report back.

Just got back from Ackerman - water is clean, no slime.

sailr, what size is the retrieve boat - I may have a place to store it, albeit in Bradenton.

We have a Gheenoe and a utility trailer to haul it in. I think it's 12' but may be longer. Also have an electric trolling motor and battery for it.

I would like to find a 10' jon boat cheap to replace the gheenoe. Small and light enough to throw on top of a van or suv or in a pickup.

rchippie, I'm getting emails to show posts you made here but for some reason they're not showing up here! No, didn't call about the one on craigs list. Ran out of time and need to stay around the $100 mark and lighter smaller boat. I'll check it out again. Thanks for the reminder.
