I thought that one might be the closest.

The best thing if you do get this boat is to see how it runs on 4s and 6s with the stock prop.. chances are while running 4s you can have a bigger prop..

why can't you do so on 6s? I figured it would pull less amps on higher voltage even with a bigger prop.

smaller prop with more volts pulls less amps, but going up in volts with a bigger prop will pull more amps

on 6s it is very possible to run a bigger prop, but time will tell when some run these on the stock prop and tune from there

I'll take a shot at answering this too. If the same amount of work is done with two setups, one with high voltage/low amperage/smaller prop and another with low voltage/high amperage/larger prop, then the first setup will run cooler.

The thing missing in your statement was the total amount of work being done - a function of the prop size and RPMS.

There is also a point of diminishing returns as RPMS go up north of 35K. Of course testing it and measuring it is part of the fun of tuning a setup.

I was really excited about his boat and had one ordered but for the price you can get a decent boat going for the price, to me the abs hull is a major turn away, if it was a nice fiberglass hull I would think about it. I would think about this boat if it was under thew $300 mark, and one more thing , body clips on a boat??

What is it about ABS that failed you in the past? The fact is we wont know about rigidity, durability or whatever you're thinking til we get we can get the product. So wait and see. I'll let you know real soon :)

And body clips, sure, why not? I hate the rusty spring steel on my SV27. I've had to buy an entire hardware set for a proboat because the knurled hatch screw fell in a lake. I love traxxas' innovation.

I wonder how this hull will hold up at upper 40's to low 50's on very cold water
and I'm waiting to see how this hull is sealed up under those clips

Ok, trick question, a supervee with a canopy pin, a Hypersport with a thumbscrew, and Titan with a body clip are all upside down in a lake... Which one takes on water?

The answer is the one without hatch tape. :)

Yeah, who ever heard of such a thing!!

Umm, no, that isn't my hydro......

P.S. my sea rider didn't use hatch tape. Just soft closed cell foam under the hatch. Spent A LOT of time upside down and didn't leak.

I've seen the test boat upside down a couple of times and it didn't harm anything. There was a small hole in the tip of the bow they drained the water out and put it back in the lake and kept running it. The receiver is in a watertight box.

Just a though, how does the receiver handle 6s if you can't put that much through a receiver on a bec?

the esc will have a voltage regulator on it probably to power the rc. I take my cheap 6s ESC, water cool them, add a voltage regulator and seal them in epoxy, works great. If I can do it, I am sure a company like Traxas can figure it out even better.
