I have done some with a sharp step drill bit and than a finish bit,
Start with the step drill bit as a pilot and then a sharp 3/16 bit to finish it with.
Just go slow, And with lite pressure, A little at a time and let the bits do the work.

The seem is ok for the most part i gess but towards the front of the left sponson its like the hull is not butted together level, its hard to explain ill have to take a pic tonight and show ya.. Im going to paint the hole hull just like the MG so didnt need a CF hull, and yep they are hard to work with..

Hmmm........... a bit quiet around here lately.

Hey guys - I uploaded pics of my 3rd gas boat in my photo album here in ose. Just click my name/profile and check out the album. Hope to maiden her by tomorrow.

I also wanted to share pics of the Stryker F-41 I got for free from a friend .......... its totaled but Im challenged to do something to it even if it ends up only as a plug for a mold.
I think its beyond economic/viable repair - unless you plan on using it as a battering ram! hahahaha! But I'd certainly take Lenny's damage any day over this type of damage. The canopy is even fused/fiberglassed to the body - so thats an additional challenge that has to be done right. Hey, its free anyway - but its the challenge that makes me excited! hehehehe

So Mac,what gas motor would get a R-42 sized hull to rip around like one of my FE boats. And how much. After sunday I may have to move up.

Uhm, you going to the dark side buddy? Lol!
I'd go for a bnew Zenoah 290PUM (28.5cc) motor. Get it from Gizmomotors:

Break it in first and run it stock for awhile, then you can have it modified to your liking and as your driving progresses. Jason would also be of great help to you as Im sure he knows more than me when it comes to gas boats.
Now, if you wanna run it at 86mph all day - I could refer you to Joe Mata. He's the guy that recently sold that front damaged ProCat that Lenny just bought. I believe only a few folks can run that kind of speeds all day - Joe is one of them.

Guys - if you have an IPhone, Blackberry or Android cellphone, do download "Viber" on your phone and lets get to talk for free! Lately, I've been talking to Joe in Florida using Viber (just as long as you have wifi) almost on a daily basis. Great app!

Im sure there were some minor scratches here and there before the big one - but when it hit the water sprout fountain that we use as a buoy and caused that damage you see in the pics - that was it!
You can see the fountain that this boat hit here in this heli video:

I think my friend was trying to navigate it as best he could when the boat in front of him stalled - so instead of possibly hitting the boat he swerved hard and hit the fountain instead.

37" will commence in about a month! We're finally catching up on pending stuff.

                              Here's a twin in-line in a mono - doing 68mph:
