Seeing what you guys posted, I got an itch and took out my Xray 1:18 which is just stored under my work table. Called Stephen up and asked what else I needed to complete it, then proceeded to HK and placed items in the cart. Stephen texted that he needed some parts too for his xray - so I doubled some items. Almost nearing the $100 mark on the cart, I decided to let it simmer as I'm sure there are other parts to be ordered once we get to think more.

Then Stephen called that the Repsol 2t motor oil that we have been waiting for and very rare to come by is finally available - and he kinda convinced me to order a case as they sell pretty fast and takes more than 6 mos before next stock arrives - so that's about another $100 there.
A Zenoah gas motor is about $200, so I'm pulling my hair out now!!!! Lol!!! Jeeeeshh, either you guys stop posting your car pics or I need to sell some of my FE stuff!!! Hahahahaha!
LOL, soon i'll be posting helicopter topics
but trust me when i tell u seeing all the videos you guys are posting links to is giving ME the itch to get my a$$ moving to order the remaining parts. i made an almost final list yesterday of what i need to order. i will be posting it one final time and will order. i'm getting stuck on stuff like clevis, motor mount, etc.

who told u to use that gearing bro? that is way to high on the pinion side. stock gearing should be just fine 13/54
It is a 2wd and I worked my way up to that last year.No stress on anything, well ESC & motor anyway.Axles and things are a different story.Go to the Traxxas forum and read up.Some of us are running these motors well.

btw, are you going to help me with reinforcing my boat? esp. for the blueprinting & inside cf or fiberglass. you had mentioned you would take some pics of the inside to show me where i needed to reinforce. i think u said above the battery trays

So here is the first pic.Now remember I said Jason's job wasn't the hacked up functional job that I did on mine.

I didn't get the carbon wrapped all the way up on this side(right side from rear)as the seam wasn't the problem here.I was concerned about how much fiberglass I removed from the ride pads in blueprinting.
On this side I ground the seam as far up as I could then put the CF on.There is some balsa and glue along the inside that you will be able to see on yours ED

this is before you applied the resin right?

You need to brush in a thin coat of resin thin lay the cf down ontop of the resin, the with gloves on or use another brush lightly press the cf down so the resin kinda bleeds into the cf fibers thats what makes it strong..

Yes it does not need to be soaked with resin.I learned this after I added all that weight to the Fightercat.Oh well,it needs it anyway. You only need to adhere it to the hull and stiffen the fibres. You can hit it again to make it PURDY as I did with Jason's.
I used a round ended foam paint roller from the dollar store for Jason's.This is the best method so far.You just cut down the roller to fit in the sponson.

                            Hey Mac,
I just bought this cat from your buddy,
I think I bit off more than I can chew on these repairs,
                            But not sure,
I would like to air brush and blend it in when repairs are done.
I will also need to fill the hatch holes for the air intake and exhaust on transom.

Hey Lenny - I was wondering what happened to you as you didnt post back here after I gave you Joe's email. Joe did pm me in Jim's Dock and I thought he must've sold the boat to somebody else already by now, but glad to hear you were the one who got it.
We would've been all over it if not for the horrendous int'l shipping quote but happy to know that he basically gave you the hull for free and just pay for the shipping and packing materials.
Do let us know if you need help in fixing the damage - it really isnt a big deal and should have no effect on its performance when done. Do show us pics when you have the time as im sure the others here would chime in to help you with the repair.

Hey Mac,Shipping to you was 1000.00 that is just nuts.
Yes, Joe was shopping around for cheap shipping quotes,
And I have been swamped at work with two stroke repairs.
I tried to post the pictures that Joe sent me in a email,
But can not post them on hear for some reason.
Zip file I think is the problem.
