    Painting starts...........

It was hard to match the stock fluorescent neon green of MG - so since it would only be the lower ride pads that would be painted, I went for a bit darker Avocado-ish color.

      Macdon,

The paint I gave is more close than the avocado paint. Why don't you use that instead?

Thanks for the help with my V-Hull yesterday by the way! Love my servo deck! Hehehe!

I'm making a Cap Bank today. 5 x 2200uF 50V soldered together on a PCB. This is enough I hope?

I might just run my MG as is with the colors then repaint with your color when needed. I suspect my color to be flaked off anytime soon anyway hehehe.
Glad to be of help on your V.hull - hope it maidens soon!

Got the bottom ride pads painted, added fiberglass to the interior flooring then up to the transom for a bit of reinforcement.
I didnt like the large hole for the rubber boot as my rubber boots werent as large, so covering up that hole from the inside was the solution for me to make a smaller hole.
We also got to pour resin into the tips - its just an inch deep, so I will be gauging if it needs more. My fiberglass worker was worried that the heat produced by the curing resin might alter the tips - so we planned on filling it slowly as days pass.
By tom monday, we could probably fiberglass the seams and fiberglass the motor mount as well so I could start installing the hardware.

Stephen (tagasagwan) came in yesterday so I helped him with fiberglassing and help setup his v.hull - so didnt get to do much with my MG.
He brought with him a spray paint that closely matches the neon green of the MG, so will probably help in re-painting the ride pads in the future if need to.

Since the hatch is so flimsy I would go agead and order one macdon. I tape my hatch but in a blow over it will crack and let water in. If you tape the hatch in the event of a blowover the sub hatch will remain in place and keep water out. Done it a few times myself. I do think the see through window is neat on the cull so I'm not sure I mind spending $17-$18 every now and then on a cull. I keep a few on hand as they may be hard to find in stock at times though.

My 'hull & canopy' MG didnt come with that sub hatch - plastic tupperware lid, so I had to ask the fine members of this forum if one is needed. However, with the motor size I was going for, the lid wont fit anymore.
You're right thou, the canopy is flimsy. I envisioned 2 solutions - either sand the interior of the canopy & place fiberglass or mold the canopy entirely for an unlimited canopy anytime its needed.
Being international, ordering the canopy alone could be expensive - so the 2nd solution sounds more feasible.

Macdon, I make epoxy canopies, if you want to PM me your address Ill look into what its going to cost to ship it to you. By the time you take in account materials etc to mold it, shipping may be less expensive? ... unless you already have everything to do so.

I was able to make mine fit by using a blow dryer to heat it up and while it was hot press it down over the motor so it would conform to the shape. Just be careful not to bend it too much out of shepe. I don,t know why unless it's the extra winds on the Nem vs. the Leopard but with the leopard 4082 on a seccond MG hull I didn't have to go through this process and the sub hatch fit just fine though it was a tight fit. An other option of course would be to pick up one of tiqueman's epoxy hatches.

I agree with jasoncyclone here. My MG seems to settle down at high speeds. Installed a Nem. Gold 4082 2200kv motor in mine running on 6s with an x645 prop and at about 1/2 throttle the boat seems to settle down. I can push her to W.O.T. with no problem at all. Havn't tried it in big chop yet but at those speeds I think I'd bee a fool to push a 29" hull to those speeds on 6" chop.

Thanks for the kind consideration Scott - but no worries as I have a small fiberglass outfit down here. In our recent PMs, it seems having more than 1 MG isnt exactly a bad idea either!
