The Geico is probably the better boat for you. It will handle wind/waves better due to the hull design and has less drag than the tunnel, so it will probably be faster stock. Both corner VERY well (I was really surprised at how well the tunner corners), but tunnels are better-known for flipping in a turn. We haven't run them side-by-side. That's something I'll have to see if we can do when he gets back.

That's an interesting question... I don't know that one is actually faster than the other... I believe either can be prop'd to achieve mid-40's with relative ease (think sport running), and can achieve low 50's in race trim, if everything else is setup correctly.

      2)which is easier to drive?
The Geico will be much easier to drive. Either drives well, but the OPC Tunnels take more balance on the throttle in the turns.

3)which is more stable under windy conditions, around 10 mph wind?
I am a timid man and never wish my boat to turn over.
Again, the Geico will serve you better. The OPC Tunnels can "fly" in the wind, and do not like rough water conditions. The Geico (Cat) is a much better "offshore" boat.

Any advice or recommendations are all welcome.
      Hope this helps.

I just hope they get here soon! I've had a Stiletto hull sitting in my shop for a few weeks waiting for an outboard so I can finish it up!!

                Miss Geico First Impressions

I just picked up my Miss Geico from my LHS (HobbyTown USA-Brooklyn Park, MN). I paid $312.49 for mine. I will post pictures later tonight but I wanted to share my first impressions of the boat with all of you that are interested in the boat. My first impression was how damn bright the paint was - it is radioactive neon yellow! The photos don't do justice as to how bright she is. The fit and finish is a magnitude greater than the Blackjack 26 and FasTECH! The glue used to adhere the stringers to the hull is about 3x as thick as my past ProBoat models. The rudder hardware is something to behold as it looks and feels like it is aftermarket - the anodizing is gray in color and there is zero slop in the rudder compared to the FasTECH. It also appears that the ESC has thicker wiring now - perhaps 12 gauge. The propeller IS the same size as the stock Blackjack and FasTECH so I am going to start with an Octura x642 on it and that will be the extent of my modifications. They really, really, really did their homework on this project and I am very glad that I cancelled my Traxxas Titan order for this. Please let me know if you want to see photos of specific angles and I will send them to you. AWESOME job to Darin Jordan and the gang at ProBoat - I LOVE THIS BOAT!

Awesome! Glad to hear how nice this thing sounds. I'd love some pics of the inside layout. That is the only thing the website really lacks. Good shots of the inside. Any angles would be nice. Just curious how everything is laid out.
