Welcome aboard Derrick! You will find many great individuals here and gobs of outstanding data for all types of boats. I see you are from MN - I am as well - Minneapolis area. If you are close to the cities, PM me and I can give you some excellent lake locations with zero seaweed, no swimmers and best of all, no waves!

I'm the proud owner of Proboat's Miss LLumar (nitro w/ flex shaft) and the BJ26 brushless. I CAN'T WAIT TO ADD MISS GEICO TO MY FLEET! And yes, I too was hoping to have my hands on her late this month. As it has already been stated, the push back on delivery means ALL the bugs will be worked out by the time we get these boats on the water.
I must say the Titan looks pretty impressive in the videos.....hmmm how can I get both? Oh wifey.... Cheers to all!
Can I ask what kind of speed do you think your getting out of your Miss Llumar? I ask because I am converting one to brushless and am curious as to what a stock nitro Miss Llumar can do. Thanks!!

This is pretty typical for the manufacturer...re-seller is actually more accurate....say what they will. Promote and get pre-orders and test the waters for demand. Very comon but everyone of them will say...no way.

The AQ cat is no different....they all like to get their ducks in a row. How long was the AQ UL 1 promoted and "tweaked" and still some very poor issues with them.

I am not knocking the boys here trying to deal them but what they expect and what they get are usually two different things.

Thanks for the welcome! I might be getting speed in the upper 20s. I don't have a gps so I'm not certain. It could be better I know....but I don't know much about tuning the nitro motor. In fact, I'm still running the original stock .15 motor. The only upgrade I've done is a brass prop in place of the plastic it came with. I've also been thinking about a conversion to brushless. It would be great if you can keep me / us posted on your conversion process. Cheers!

I can't think of any time we've done that on any of our product lines in the two years I've been here. It's especially not true in this case, and it's definitely not a "working out the bugs" issue either. Sometimes factories just get behind, miss a container shipping schedule, and then we get stuck waiting for the next opportunity.

I expected your response and certainly if you were handlng it then it would be done and shipping.

I understand the "miss a container" but come on-when you invest thousands and thousands in merchandise from a factory then we are talking big purchases and contracts, etc. If not then your purchasing agent needs to be talked to...if they do not meet the requirements then it usually costs the company building them. You know I worked for state gov for over 15 years and we had to have teeth in every part of a contract....mostly because they bid and then back track. It cost them big bucks when they screwed it up.

All I can say is there has to be something to my comment. This may be the first for you all on the boats but it is not the first for several companies.

I commend you all for this great product R&D.

Now stand on them, Andy :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Jeff, but I make mistakes just like anybody else. Probably more. Our people have done a great job on handling the issue, and I think you all will think it worth the wait. Rest assured, the only difference between the boat on the videos/photos and the one you'll see at the LHS is that the video/photo doesn't do justice to the brightness of this boat on the water.

You know, it's hard being green.

                  This boat is Hott!
I like it alot and it will be one in my shed soon enough... The only thing I want is more speed!!! So I guess now would be a good time to get a Higher Amp ESC and Higher KV motor. Ofcourse my trusty choice of motor, ecs and prop would be the reliable 8XL, X442 and a 120 Swordfish. I might not be looking at the sealed hull right but I don't think the XL will fit. I have no knowledge on the S or L sized motors but I can tell you that anything under 40+ mph will not hold my attention very long.
Anyone know of a motor size that will fit under the sealed cover and the KV to match that of a 8XL with the power to move the boat???
                  OK, You Go First!!!

One thing people gotta keep in mind, that this is what happens when you have stuff made offshore (by offshore I mean china). I work in the automotive sector, and more and more of our suppliers are offshore companies, because quite simply, as sad as it is, the north american companies just can't compete.

The biggest downfalls of sourcing from offshore companies are that it's hard to keep tabs on what they are doing, and if something does go wrong with a shipment, it's not like you can pick up the phone and have replacements within a few hours. Some days it takes our quality department days just to get a hold of someone with the time differences. By that time, 100,000 more bad components are already made and on their way.

The pro is the pricing. That's how we, the consumer, get them at a reasonable price.

                        A Neu 1512/2.5D should fit.

I would try the octura x642. I'm not a big fan of prather props.

I am fifty-eight years old and although fly RC sailplanes since 1974, I am a newb to RC boating. Now I run ShockWave 26BL with ProTek 2S5000 40C battery, Octura x435 prop and DX2S. She is excellent, fast yet stable, easy to drive.

Next boat, I plan to run Miss Geico 29 or Stiletto 29 and have several questions:

                                1)which is faster in stock?
I plan to run with two ProTek 2S5000 batteries.

                                2)which is easier to drive?

3)which is more stable under windy conditions, around 10 mph wind?
I am a timid man and never wish my boat to turn over.

Any advice or recommendations are all welcome.

                                Thanks in advance,
