Thank You!!! Skunk Works Cat 1st Run

To all who have helped me experience this phenomenon you guys call FE, thank you !!! I listened to ALL your advice and ended up needing every bit of it tonight on Scott's (Skunk Works) Cat's maiden voyage. I built a makeshift rescue rig utilizing the SW26RS EP for the inevitable stranded boat. I charged my Duratrax DTX4200's (junk, yeah, I know), checked all electrical connections, hardware and taped down the hatch (thank you, thank you, thank you). I put the cat in the water and purred around to get the feel of her........then.......it was WOT. I never expected what she did. She lept out of the water standing on her prop , accelerated onto a beautiful plane and shot by me......let off now! She turns on a dime and is just sick on SAW. Well, after a little bad driving and bouncing around she stopped . Launched the rescue rig and retrieved her. Checked everything, reset ESC and put her back in. Another couple of blistering passes and nothing. Rescued her the same way and tried again, same thing...only this time rescue rig dies right next to her.......time for some twilight fishing .....new pack in the rescue rig and brought them both in. For the few minutes she ran, she was awesome to say the least. What a great Cat (Thank you Scott), what a great thrill. Anyone near Boston, bring your best, we're ready!!!!!

I need to get a GPS soon......that way I'll know how much smack to talk and to whom. Love that whirring sound the BL motors make. Skunk Works did a great job setting this thing up.....no tweaking, just WOT. Check out the rig........oh yeah, sorry Tom, no toysports allowed!

That's great news Piranha! Sounds like you've got yourself a nice boat. You mean if I make it out east I can't bring my Triton? Seriously though, congratulations:D

Now I know what you guys are talkin' about! RMZ, your Triton has to be 10mph faster and that is hard to believe after seeing this thing run. I will take on anyone, you might beat me, but you will be pushed hard!

Right now I think you'd smoke me in the turns:) I'd love to see your cat in action if you get the chance to take some video. Enjoy your new rig!

too bad you are so far away,i`d love to run with you.
it would be cool to see the two of them side by side, mine is red and i believe is setup the same.
                  i run mine on 16-3600`s and either a 42mm or 45mm prop.
they work well when setup correct as with all cats.

Doozie, he's on this site.....check the members list.....and he uses all OSE parts so you know theres quality inside. YZ, mines yellow so it would be cool.....I'm running DTX 4200's, 100amp Pulso, 11XL and 42mm CF prop all watercooled.

just so you know alot of people dont recomend that you drive around with brushless on part throttle it can heat things up quick. The cat looks great though, I also like your cool retrieval boat! oh your cat may be cutting out because you are driving it at partial throttle and getting the esc warm. get some temps on the motor, esc ,and batts.

Hey Jeepers, what are ya sayin', I dunno what I'm doing? Um, yeah, that's the general consensus. lol I will definitely heed your advice. Scott from Skunk Works also told me the beeps I'm hearing are faults. So, I think I'm setting the ESC incorrectly also. Like I said, "it's the most complicated simple machine".
