You will find that R/C boats turn much better to the right than to the left. Stop fighting the prop walk, turn clockwise!

        Hello out there!

Been busy at the shop. The new cat has a carbon fiber insert on the tray of the hull and I have installed the graupner mount.

Ray.....The cat looks to be running great on the video! For 12 cells it is skimming along nicely.

Thanks to Steve at OSE.....All should support your LSO, we are trying to make a living here....and have some fun also. Just a good guy here trying to make a run at something different than the corporate world.

2 new builds of the cat going on now.....top speed is by YZ120 at 41MPH so far. There are a couple sick builds out there by guys like us who are looking to break 50 mph using the 7XL motor and lipos....cannot wait to here more and see video!

Working on website for Skunk Works....if I could buy more time I would, man is it almost July already!

LET ME THROW THIS OUT THERE. I NEED A NAME FOR THE CAT......

Right now I have lightning cat as the first vote. I am into the arctic cat snowmobiles...so FIRECAT strikes my fancy.

        Catch up with you soon!

        Scott

Great attitude! Anyone who gets their panties in a wad over what someone says on this site needs to step back and take a deep breath. Unlike a few other FE sites, this one almost never has flames posted. As far as I'm concerned everyone here wants to help; if I ever read a post that I think is a flame I ignore it and assume the poster just made a typo. This is just toy boats afterall! :)

Hehehe, you tell me you're gonna hose me down with your roostertail - then you ask me how to do it? :p

Since I don't own a SuperVee I'm not worried. Your prop choice depends on how fast you want to go and how long you want to run. More speed means less run time. If you can limit your run time then you should be able to swing an m645 prop with the right strut and CG setting. That "can" get you into the upper 30s assuming good water, good cells, etc. The 11XL is a relatively low Kv motor for 12 cells but for that larger boat it is a very good choice for sport running. Any time you change to a new prop, pull the boat in after every minute of running and check for high temperatures on the motor, ESC and cells. If you do not do this you will eventually cook your motor, ESC or most likely the cells. Good cells are not cheap...

Too many guys get all excited about high GPS speeds, but they forget that if they want their equipment to last they have to limit run time often to just 2 minutes or less. For sport running only 2 minutes of run time gets pretty boring. Unless you are racing, IMO it is better to choose a setup that gives good speeds but still allows a run time long enough to enjoy. It appears you are about there!

Not sure......I would have to say the current draw was too much for these lower quality packs.....

heres a place to get some 7 cell packs

http://www.batterystore.com/ (you need to go to Intellect on the side menu, then go to 8.4V packs and click the 3600 cell (unless you want 3800)

i think you could ask them to use deans....when you buy them, there is a request box that you could ask them to use deans
