have you tried running lower voltage? 9s is a lot for the 1090kv 5692s. I would run on 6s that way you can rule out putting too much current through the escs, also less likely to spin a flex.

Also, TRY nailing it from a dead stop a few times. If it doesn't jump a few feet out of the water you've got a problem with your power system somewhere.

Mike, you can't hole shot a twin mono like this. They don't jump up on top of the water like a cat. It will just cavatate and stress the motors / controllers. They need to work their way up on plane.

I think it will be a good idea to reduce the number of cells as it will make cog adjustment easier. Ive not tried nailing it from a dead stop but can give it a go.

Remembered seeing these pictures and I also think a video which I cant find regarding nailing it. Definitely not taking sides as Joel has given me some excellent advice on many occasion. http://www.hpr-powerboats.ch/cpg149/...lbum=60&pos=20normal_hpr_mono_paul_jr_thomas_fahrbilder_114.jpg

Anyone else with suggestions for a suitable servo. The one Jay has suggested sounds super but not sure I can install it as it is quite big.

Savox makes great servos. Just go to there website and find one with gobs of torque. They have some incredibly powerful servos in standard size if that's what your using. I think the numbers they give are closer in accuracy to some of the cheap servos.
One other thought, have you tried switching over to the bec on the other esc? Just a thought, perhaps the bec your using now has issues once it's loaded up. It doesnt cost any to try anyways:-) I hope all is well in beautiful Spain!

savox 1256TG is a good one. Very powerful. I have been running one for 3 seasons now still works great. As far as the jumping out of the water thing, I have seen a few jump out of the water but I will take Joel's word for it that they don't usually do this.

If I go with the Savox 1256TG which I think I will, should I use a separate power source to it and if so how do I wire it?

              Thanks

Hi in post 58 Paul suggested I adjust the stingers. I adjusted them as suggested to what I thought was a correct and equal adjustment. I then levelled the boat and then layed a spirit level across the stingers, I was out by about 5mm which I have now sorted. I now have a horrible feeling that this might have been true before I made the adjustment. Having looked at the videos of it again and it seems to spin out in the same direction most times. If the stingers are not set exactly level would this cause it to spin out? I have a terrible feeling I am going to look a bit of an idiot!!!

                Cheers

I agree with tyler it looks like the starboard motor is coming on faster then the port pull the boat to the right !

I run a hyperion Life pack to the rx, I don't rely on the escs BEC to power anything. I power the savox servo through the RX and its never been a problem. Its a powerful servo but not one of those 450 oz/in servos so I think you'll be fine.

Andrew, that will be great news if it comes down to strut adjustment. Whatever gets you up and running! There's a wealth of information here to help out other guys with large monos. I will be referencing it when I put mine together. I can't wait to see what you report back!

One last question before I give it another run in a fortnight or so. With regard to the flex shaft ends am I best using Loctite 603 over the last inch or so or should I just put it on for 2 or 3mm and then use the anti slip compound or do I put the anti slip over the inch or so of Loctite?

Finally I want to make sure the grub screws in the drive dogs aren't slipping. Any suggestions on how to ensure they don't?

Many thanks go r everyone's help to date.

If you have ground a small flat spot on the shafts where the grub screws locates, they won't slip.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

785 I was thinking of doing that, but would it be better if I drilled I small hole for it to slightly locate into? Also isn't there still a chance it will vibrate out with either method? Just a thought.

                            Thanks for the reply.
