If you start shopping for another HV ESC, be sure to check out Flier/shenzhen. They make smokin' esc's ......
http://www.fliermodel.com/en/contact.asp
Same thing, different name. Fighter cat stopped having them made, then the manufacturing company started selling them to the public under the name "Flier".Comment

I was told the 101's were good for 5000watts so 200amps at 6s, 300 or so on 4s and so on. These ESC's don't even like the thought of water so don't even get a drop on them. So you know what to do, don't cha?
I would consider these peak numbers and know a 646/2 would exceed 200 on 6s on my DF just to give you an idea.Last edited by srislash; 03-24-2014, 01:27 AM.Comment

I should add that it would depend on the setup. My logs were from the DF running 6s2p running 5000mah Dinogy's.Last edited by srislash; 03-24-2014, 01:48 AM.Comment

Ha! Epoxlookon it... Lol. I know better. I guess I'm going to prop down a little. I was thinking about a tp 1870kv 4090 motor instead of my caster 1515 2200kv motor.... What's you guys thoughts on that? More power? Run 6s on that? It's 90mm long vs the castle being 72mm long.... Should have more power??
Try the 642/5s/2200 or the m442/4s/2200kv setups, they're great on the mm....Last edited by gsbuickman; 03-24-2014, 03:44 AM.Comment

You put a thin coating on it. You have to make sure you get everything and its completely sealed. My fightercat 101 esc in my cheetah is done like this and it's seen moisture I'm sure because everytime I run the boat it has water in it when I bring it in. I think I have water coming up the stuffing tube.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

I use Plasti dip Performix spray electrical tape. If you are going to use epoxy I would use something thin and pour it over the ESC. Let it dry and inspect for any bubbles. It may need to be spotted again.
And yes, remove shrink wrap. And while it is off inspect the solder joints. Especially the power leads, watch for solder touching each other and such. I think the 240's are OK. The 101's not so much. I inspect any of them when I have a chance.Comment
