A 4082 should be plenty for that hull. That should give you 32-3500 watts power.1600-1700kv should be nice on 6s. You can push more voltage later if need or feel arises. As long as you are careful prop wise the amps should go down as voltage goes up.

Try the 642/5s/2200 or the m442/4s/2200kv setups, they're great on the mm....
This seems backwards to me. Increase the cell count and increase the prop pitch too? I thought you always reduce the load when increasing cell count!!!

Also.... Tp has a 1870kv 3y wind and a 1690kv 6d wind..... Which one be better?
I am a fan of Y winds myself but I like that 1690 number. Use that Swordy Pro. Just use the logging and pay attention to the numbers. Keep everything happy and work your way up.

I'm a fan of Y winds too.... Maybe I'll see what tp offers in a 82mm motor

The 442 & 642 are great props with the mm. The 1515 is a great motor for them on 4 & 5s. I got the idea from heaving earths mm & I had to try it myself. Currently I am running the AQ 2030kv on 4s with a back cut m442 to reduce amp draw. It runs pretty good. I was playing with my 2350kv, but I've got plans for it elsewhere ....

Ok I need to clarify.... The two motors I'm trying g to choose from are:

              tp power
              4050 40mm x 83mm 1680kv 4y

              4060 40mm x 92mm 1870kv 3y or 1690kv 6d

I want faster than my cheetah out of this boat. I will be happy with 70hp..... In you guys opinions, what motor would be my best bet?

Personally, I would go with the 4050 at 1680kv. The 4050 will handle RPM's better than that long 4060. 70mph should be no sweat T. I really liked my 4050 1810kv's in my Shocker and I now have a pair of 950kv's in the Fantasm.

I have a white back but I feel like it's not accurate enough for me. Maybe I'll try it again because I have a verified speed on my cheetah and that will help me with inputting correct parameters.

Thanks for keeping the details rolling on this. There are a lot of fast boats out there but not so much detail as how they got there. It's even rarer to get the good and the bad, great to see all the input to to keep your project and goal headed in the right direction. I will be following this with great interest.

I'm very appreciative of all the guys willing to help. I'm OK with buying new electronics if what I have isn't going to work. When I get home I'll be measuring to see if the tp motor will fit.

Yeah, there has been. I was part of progressing those ESCs for a while, until I just gave up. There comes a time when a man just wants to run boats!
My experience with them (the units that had the "bugs" worked out) is that they could perform quite impressively, take a beating and stay cool...until they didn't.
