That's true but I believe there has been at least some evolution since Ben first started messing with them. We have a handful of them planned for torcher testing this spring.......that is if spring EVER comes to Michigan.

That's cool, as long as the Mah and c rating are the same your good to go. I thought you may have accidently mismatched them when you had the 2s pack go bad or what ever happened to it. Just a thought........... I probably should have said maybe the problem instead of probably the problem.

Yes... If you need some more shrink wrap I can send you some. I just made an order last night. I use that stuff alot. I repair my own battery packs and do all my esc's in epoxy. I also cover all my battery packs when new with the clear shrink so they stay looking new. I had to tear open some 2s packs last night because they were melting at the crappy little 4mm (hard packs) connectors

Before (should have shown the hard case melted)

After. 6.5mm connectors So I can change end leads

So an 1870kv 4090 will draw more amps than my castle? Does it make more power? What esc do I need? I'm not scared to buy what I need. I'd rather over do it anyway.

And yes, remove shrink wrap. And while it is off inspect the solder joints. Especially the power leads, watch for solder touching each other and such. I think the 240's are OK. The 101's not so much. I inspect any of them when I have a chance.
              Morning Shawn
I also prefer to use spray on plasti-dip to waterproof esc's, receiver's and parts of hulls. After inspecting your Rx/tx, hang it up & give it a coat on the top, bottom & both sides. Let it dry, inspect it & give it several more coats until your satisfied. On my Rx's, I take the circuit board out of the case, wrap the servo plugs with tape & spray.

I had a boat that turned into a submarine for about 10 hrs until I got it back. The only thing that was toast, was the hs-645mg servo. The Rx & tx were ok .....

Nice! My buddy had a raptor that made 75rwhp and I ported the head for him (was ported somewhere else before me so I fixed it lol) and it made 86rwhp after!

Btw.... That's some serious tq your making. Think his was 59tq but it was all drag setup. He coukd only beat me a bike length in a 500ft drag on the sand..... I'd have him in the 300ft tho.

You can run it T, with what you have. I am just saying if you load that motor (say a 450/3 or 646/3) it will push it. But it will take juice to do it. A big motor will spike amps. More weight to get spinning. If you want to be safe get a Swordfish 240. Mine has been fine with my 1717 mono running 450's, 648, 646, and such. Those 90mm long motors are rated about the same as a 1717. Rated anyway
