I have 2 boats with the larger ESCs, and have tried several brands. I have the previously mentioned TURNIGY 180 in a GENESIS and really like it. The throttle is smooth, easy to control. The low voltage cut-off is also smooth, and lets you run the boat back to shore. Have owned MANY of the Hong Kong TURBOJET ESCs, they are nowhere as smooth and don't seem capable of running the rated amps. I have tried most of the larger TURBOJETs (120-200) and ALL of them have failed in just 1 summer or less! The only thing I use them for now is cutting them apart and salvaging the water cooling pad!!

Just a quick THANKS to everyone! I ordered the parts listed in the replies, successfully cut my first flex cable to length per the posted instructions, and converted the PURSUIT to a single piece drive line!! The boat bench checked good this past weekend, but TOO COLD to run at the lake. Seemed to work just fine in the bathtub. BIG THANKS to everyone who took the time to post links and answer question, another boat "rescued" thanks to your efforts!!

                  Good to hear,
I know the hole for hatch tab is a little weak there but the rest is pretty good.
Well I would Just run it on 4s and use the T120a esc and add three 35v 1000uF caps to it,
Just do not over prop it and have some fun with it.
You just need to set the boat up right so it does not run wet,
And that is pretty easy to do with a little help.

                      I like that prop,
But I use that prop on a lot smaller hulls.
If you have it than try it but I pretty sure you need something a little bigger.
                      I am using in my pursuit a x447/3 prop but with a 4074 1800kv with a SK 180a esc,
Do you have that prop on hand or were you thinking of buy one because that would be a little small for that hull ?
I could put one on mine and do a test with it if you want,
But the kv will be a little different with mine than yours but not by much.

I have a 36" pro boat shockwave modded to FE and it been running pretty good for about two years now,
And the setup is still at this time a leopard 4074 2000kv, T120a esc with added caps and a x446/3 prop.
Running on two 4s in parallel or two 2s packs in series with 5.5 bullets all the way.

x440/3 is a good Super Vee 27 prop but it is on the small side for the pursuit.

the prop that came with it is tiny compared to the 440

If you have it go ahead and slap it on it wont hurt anything, might take a sec to hook up though. Something closer to 45 mm may be more appropriate.
Not familiar with the stock HK system so hard to say on prop. Maybe a x642, a m445, a x447/3 .

Are you sharpening and balancing your own props or having it done?
