    Hi.
You will love the Pursuit and I would just try the stock motor that comes with it,
I am not sure what kv motor will come with from HK but they are not junk.
Some of the pros on hear like them and say they are not a bad little motor,
I have been doing some testing with mine with a 4074 1800kv motor and running 4s, 5s, and 6s with that setup.
    A 2000kv or a 2200kv will be a little faster than my 1800kv on 4s.
If you need any more info just let us know.
Also take a look at some of my video and testing,
Hears a link to start with.

Leopard 4074 Motor at 2000kv. Large rotor. Average quality motor without breaking the bank. You can get them right here in OSE too.

I like to put a thrust bearing on the less expensive motors. Takes some of the stress of the rear bearing.

You likely will want to glass the battery tray in with some cloth. That bond isn't very good from what I've seen.

The only thing I would do is add glue where needed and get a one piece flex shaft for it,
And a turnigy or seaking 180a esc with added caps and 5.5 bullets all the way.
Than run it for a 1 minute test and check it over for temps and any leaks,
Run again for two minutes and check temps on everything again.

The hulls are pretty strong from the start,
My hull is stock for now and is very strong and has a pretty nice layup of glass.

The Pursuit can handle more speed before things get out of shape. Easier driver. Goes where you point it. There's nothing wrong with the SV. Our club has a bunch of them. I've got two in the garage. They're great boats. The Pursuit is more of a race boat than the SV is. My opinion that is. I'm totally bias though.

I have a SV27R that is new but it needs a nose job fix,
So I never got it wet yet.
But I would say it is like driving a 59 Cadillac = Pursuit and than driving 59 VW bug = SV27R,
Both built good but day and night difference in handling.

I removed the 1620kv motor from my Pursuit when I got it and put in a 3665 1800kv HK car motor with cooling jacket, props used x437/3, x442, cl-08(stock hk prop). That was good for low 40's and regularly beat petrol and nitro monos on club days. The motor was upgraded to a TP power 3640 2250kv and speed is up to around the 50mph (x437/3), batts 4S 1P.I really enjoy this boat, plug and play, race after race, even beating up petrol boats when necessary!

Hear is a nice build on one but they call it a Bling Rocket instead of the Pursuit.

I recently ordered a Pursuit from HobbyKing US warehouse. Very nice hull and running hardware, but the motor is junk. I ran the stock motor 2 or 3 times in the Pursuit, it smelled hot and funny, then it finally broke its the 4th run when I was testing it on my Stiletto. The Motor got very hot and finally the magnet came detached from rotor shaft. My other motors never get hot on either boat.

Currently running the Turnigy 3665-2100KV and it does not get hot with a x440/3, but my prop work is weak so far on that one. The same motor only gets warm on my Stiletto. With a well done prop low 50s should be no problem with that motor. Although I think you'd be consuming more than 5000mAh in 4 mins (depending on water conditions).
