    custom Water blocks

first off let me just say that if this thread is not in the correct area or if it breaks any rules let me know and i will change or remove it.

I am currently building up my own small cnc mill and i am curious what the demand for custom machined water cooling plates would be? i dont have any drawings or prototypes at this time but i am open to any ideas. looking at simple designs at first but after i work the bugs out of my machine i will be looking into 4 axis milling so more detailed designs will be possible. so i guess this could be a tester thread for any custom 2d parts and once i am up and running i can give better ideas on the machines capabilities.

Something to replace the piece of crap on the t180 esc would likely be a hot item.

I figured that would come up.. Lolz I actually don't own a t180 nor have I ever seen one in person but if I had the factory heatsink dimensions I could whip something up probably.

Agreed, a replacement cooling jacket may be a really good place to start, any one with a T-180 has to mod it, so to be able to buy a 'bolt on' upgrade part is bound to be a winner. Especially if there are inlet/outlet options as well. Might be something OSE would stock?
Someone might even give you a dead esc to work from!

Actually that's a great idea.. if anyone has a dead t180 they are willing to mail to me they will get a free prototype to test for me!

what are you guys looking for as far as fitting placement on these?
i quickly drew up a 2 piece design that offers different options for fittings and i just wanted to see what the majority would want.

Good news here. The T-180 is a decent bread-and-butter ESC, but the orientation of the waterlines and non-use of the cooling plate void is an area that cries out for improvement. I build lots of P-Sport FE30's for customers and must narrow the ESC with the 90 deg fittings to get the batteries next to the ESC. Big PIA btw. I'd vote for the configuration in post #7 of this thread or a close variation http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ooling-upgrade

Large i.d. fittings should be considered - pictured : stock HRC cooling jacket fittings; Aeromarine 10-32 fittings ; Kintec 5mm fittings that are the same as come on Leopard cooling jackets

What about a copper plate on the fets with an Al water cooled and fined cooling block.

I still have the un modded cooling on my t 180 and haven't had a thermal issue yet, maybe I'm not pushing it hard enough.

It would be nice to have more than one version. One that has fittings exiting the top face of the plate and one with the fittings coming out the sides.

I had seen that post and made changes to incorporate both designs. Alexgar has sent me a plate to get dimensions from and then once I get my drawing trued up I will post a render and start a prototype run. I will more then likely go with 10/32 thread so the high flow fittings can be used.

                              Kevin,

I'd like to see this go forward. Pictured is the mod necessary for FE30 P-Sports. I have an almost foolproof method with a 90% success rate getting the old barbs out to install the 90 degree fittings. The other 10% is a Much rather use your product once developed
