If you cant find the steel u-joints, then these are better than the stock ones and much quiter, made by Graupner................a boat company, as opposed to Traxxas, a Land RC company.

There are other sizes on that site too, this one is if you want to go with 5mm drive shaft and 4mm short shaft. The 5mm is the key to accepting the Castle spur gear properly.

I wonder how these steel ones would work from right here in OSE 4mm to 5mm too! http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=cen-bj21

so basically from the spur gear it will be 5mm to 4mm at the joint to 3/16 at the prop? is this correct if I upgrade?

From the spur gear its 5mm which fits the boca bearings which fit into the end of brass tubes that are also different from the stock ones, cant remember the ID of them, but when you get the flanged bocas make sure the OD of the bearinn hub(not the flange) fits the ID if the tube. This 5mm shaft then extend out of the transom a small amount and is inserted into the u-joints 5mm end which in turn is inserted in the outdrive on the 4mm end..........................now im getting lost, Every step is in this thread when I originally mad it twin brushless which was waaaay too much power, so now its the EVX twin titan setup. All the driveline pics and instructions are in there in depth!! http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ing&highlight=

thanks, you have been tons of help.... I am getting close to being finished painting....stupid paint, I hate painting because I suck at it...

I have a clear coat that I think will go well for a marine application though, its called Glisten PC made by POR-15, I have used in numerous engine parts and it stays clear and holds very strong.... If you all don't know its an epoxy 2 part system, I wsas considering using it on the hull to stengthen it a little bit, as well as protect it from scratches, which it does very well...and use another clear on the deck/hatch

Sooo.....while installing the water outlets..... some damn loc-tite attacked the plastic, cracked and pulled it through... luckily only through the hatch area, not the hull.... so I plasti-welded a a peice of styrene over the hole.... I'll re drill and re-install when the new outlet gets here... but thats about all I lack.. I'll get some pics up soon

new water outlet should be here tomorrow, I just ordered a couple new 3s 5000 lipos.... basically I just have to finish the steering up, mount the esc's and motors... and mount the props.. then tie everything together....

then I'll be ready to do some bath testing and hopefully if she floats... then we'll head to a lake somewhere
