MHZ Lizard Extreme---motor, hardware, etc.,suggestions

I want to be realistic: this is really my first build, speed is not my ultimate goal. Between 40 to 50 mph is good enough. I want to do as much "the correct way" as possible. Having bought several boats from very highly regarded members I studied and observed the "real thing " up close.
Got a Lizard Extreme hull , I was looking for a hull with generous free board. Anyway, looking for suggestions for motor first, this is because some of the motor that might be good candidates are running low on stock here at OSE.
I have a Leo 4082 ,2000kv sitting around, obviously only for 4s. But was wondering how would a 5692, 1340kv (6s) perform, is it too much for the hull?
I wouldn't start until July, will have many more questions, so please bear with me, thanks! No, I didn't get it from MHZ USA in case you guys are wondering. ebay!

I had a cyberstorm (same size hull) and ran a 9xl on 4s with a cut down 447/3 . ran low 50s but only for a couple min.
Sold it to a guy and he got me to put in a a 1515 1.5y on 6s. Ran about low-mid 50s but for a few min longer.
So imo a leopard 4074 1400kv on 6s would get you decent speed and run time. that being said the 4082 2000kv you have on 4s would be a decent setup as well.

Just to whet your appetite, here's a Lizard Extreme (with a replacement hatch) (the yellow boat with the white hatch) kicking butt on my green DF33 & Bill's Cyberstorm in AZ several years ago in our alternate small, shallow, sloppy water pond. While I'm not sure, we all pretty much ran 2200KV 1515 1Y motors on 4S for racing.
The LE is a really nice, underappreciated boat that loves the rough water

Thanks Tony, that is awsome video, I sometimes go to Yellowstone or Teton national parks for summer vacation and was looking for a rough water boat, saw that one on ebay and couldn't resist. I just don't want to mess up my build , really appreciate your opinion. Both of you mentioned 1515, is it about the same physical size as a 4082? I am not really familiar with Nue or CC, I know they are above Leo , in terms of quality and prize.

I have the boat you have and I am always reluctant to reveal ....ESC ...power...hardware...search the site and you will find mine...it has an older motor design and batteries, but it is a great boat.....enjoy that hull and listen to some of the old farts.

Ozzie, mine is brushless and Lipo powered, but the technology moves very fast today and when I was a young lad (8 years old) I built a steam boat and it was great...now go and sit in the corner and state Douggie is God at least 500 times.

Douggie you smart ass. You know i cant count past 10 as i run out of fingers.

P.S Douggie does have some very nice looking builds.

Look, I will recite 500 times gladly if that will make be a better boat builder, I am a bit nevous as I didn't want to pick this as my first build but I love the hull and I really want to do my best. Cheers!

You will love this hull...has it had hardware attached prior to your purchase, or is it new?

Yep first time you take a drill to a new hull is a bit of a nervous moment. I mask the transom area then mark out were each part goes then measure about 10 times to make sure its rite lol. You can also double sided tape the stinger/trim tabs/ turn fins/rudder in place to work out were you want to place every thing and make sure it all fits well.

Its undrilled, I have yet to select hardware, I wanted to know what size motor only because i don't want to be waiting if it goes out-of-stock. Thanks for the suggestion with regard to drilling the transom.
