The motor is up to your goals and hardware...prop etc....also make a wood backing to the transom.

Thanks Douggie, I can't seem to find the diameter of the can for the Neu 1515,i have a Peter Z motor mount that is good for 40mm dia. A Leo 4082 would work, but liked Tony's recommendation of the 1515. I want to have transom reinforcement, thanks for pointing it out, toying with different ideas on materials.

Think the 1500 series are 1.53" or 38.862mm

Thanks, for some reason one can only see the length of the can on the Neu Motor Chart, but not the diameter. Appreciate the info!

If you go with the 1515 1Y there's a few choices : Neu 1515 1Y 2200 KV ; Castle Neu 1515 1Y 2200 KV ; Leo 4074 2150 0r 2200 KV. A t-180 will work fine for these (might put more caps on it for insurance) A simple nose-mount motor mount will work.

              Thanks, Tony!
I am not ruling out these nose-mount motor mount. I guess I am just fancying a mount with extended stringers. I was thinking CF rails but first of all don't know where to get CF boards and also worried about cutting them neatly, don't want to go with ply-wood at this moment. Maybe I am just over the top and out of my mind, but I like to take my time to think these things before diving into the build. I have some FG "prototyping Board" the same one used on printed circuit board w/o the copper foil. Only thing is that it comes pre-drilled with lots of small holes. Thinking actully using this as transom doubler. It is quite stiff. Anyway, please excuse me for being long-winded.

One thing I've found is that a "softer" material for a transom doubler (like 3/32 " ply) will conform to the transom better without gaps like with really rigid material - problem is that if you tighten the hardware a little too much the boat hull collapses against the rigid doubler and can crack if there's a gap between the doubler and the transom.

You can also double sided tape the stinger/trim tabs/ turn fins/rudder in place to work out were you want to place every thing and make sure it all fits well.
Excellent advice. By laying out the hardware on the transom (sticky tape them on) you can plan the locations and avoid the dreaded real estate conflict between the trim tab on the right and the rudder bracket (picture on request). Remember that the LE is an extreme deep V so mount the stinger (or strut) with the propshaft center at least 3/8" up to let the hull settle and minimize chine walk. Get yourself one of these to mark your holes : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...k378&search=Go

After you mark the hole location, drill through the tape ( I put a drop of oil on the drill bit to prevent chipping the gelcoat).

Anxious to see this build go forward !

This is the exact info I am craving for!
I have another two weeks of work that will prevent me from really starting. I will post progress once I start.

Tony, for me that will be an absolute honor, I know you guys have a big event coming , next week if i remember. I won't be ready anyway, if when the time comes I could shoot you a PM. I live near Pasadena. I could not respond this morning --something wrong with my phone. Wanted to thank you since I saw your message.
