So far your the only one giving me advice thank you. I was hopping to build a boat around the price as the Traxxas Spartan while being able to out due it. so around $440

If you have some spare time and if you wanted you could list the parts that you would get to finish off the build.

But i should also say I do not plan on doing this anytime soon it would be a project for late winter.
Delta here is my problem. I live in New Orleans and we are about 8 hours from getting some really bad weather. This little blow called huricane Isaac small compared to Huricane katrina has us all killing time waiting for whatever is going to happen to happen. Hence why I am on the forum so much right now. So if you want to talk I am available. Just the same I can put together a list of item to consider. Personally the almost ready to run version of the Genesis is a good value. in stock form it can outrun the Spartan consistently but only with 4S power. The Spartan is a nice fun boat and in the hands of someone that can drive would be a good match for the stock Genesis on a oval course. The Genesis may not be able to hang the bouys as well as the Spartan but it will walk away in the straights. For your target of value ($440.00) I could finish the Genesis and have money left over.

Are you starting from scratch or do you already own any of these items? I will put together a list of items and send it to you in a private message. Brand selection can be a argumentive subject and I have no reason to debate anyone over what I suggest. You can take my suggestions or not but you did ask. I have over 40 years in this hobby and can defend my personal opinions with anyone, just the same I have no reason to steer you wrong.

I hope the storm isn't to bad for you guys.

I am starting from scratch I currently don't own any RC Boat gear or any RC for that matter. I am one that is always open to new brands and suggestions especially from a veteran like you. the more i look i'm thinking it would be best to run 2x2s in series to make 4s.
I would be very happy for a list as this is all new to me and learning experience.

u couldnt get better advisor just listen to Dave and throw away all what u tried to order already :)

My advice is stock Genesis, put motor on shelf and buy 4082 2000kv (if u want to run 4s) 1600kv for 6S, traxxas waterproof servo, octura x440 x442 x445 props (u need couple of props so u can change ur boat from fun longer run to speed just by changing propeler it takes 30s :) ) and instead of buying expensive baterries just buy cheap ones but double the amount, high C rated bateries are for speed records not for fun runs :)

And for me, all the real fun starts after couple of runs, when u know what u want and what u like and start upgrading ur shaft, props motor telemetry etc etc etc... :) right now iam mounting hitec telemetry inside my hull, only thing left from stock boat is rudder, but those things i plan to put inside rescue boat iam planing to build cause with high speeds Genesis flips very often :)

I thought about that too, I have a few sheets of high density foam (for cutting wings)
But as it is winter here, the body board turned out almost cheaper than the foam!
Shop owners do raise an eyebrow though when you ask for bodyboards in winter :-)
