Jond, why would you invest a few hundred dollars in that nonsense? Just more things to go wrong. For a few hundred dollars you can get a roof rack and kayak

I don't have room to bring a kayak to my pond, silly. But I already have a little vee that I already have running that can serve another purpose as a rescue.

In the past I've used motor boats, dinghies, pontoon boats and kayaks for retrieval we still use motor boats at our races. My rescue rig is the fastest and most reliable means we've used without getting wet or balancing a waterlogged 1/8 scale across your lap.
At my age I would have the boat rescued by the time I got in a kayak

Wow, lots of new impressive rigs!!!

Here's my version 2.0. It's big so it can rescue a Challenger 43. Worked great on its maiden voyage, just needs a little tweaking.

            Nice I like it.
I tested out my twin mono yesterday and blew one of the 550 motors.
It was used and I think the coupler was out of line causing xtra friction and heat.
I'm going to switch some 540 motors and lower the voltage and see how that does.

Probably just make an entirely knew rig from some scraps or something similar to yours.

Looks good. I like the idea of two different colored pool noodles, it helps with orientation when you are at a distance.
Where did you get the plastic box from?

I had an idea of putting different colored flags on each tip of the forks. Just haven't got around to doing it.

It's just a tupperware box from Walmart. I painted it flourescent orange and wrapped some reflective tape around the bottom. It's nice because its self contained and attaches to the pvc rig with velcro.

                      Nice!

If I ever make another one from scratch, I want to try it with one of these Kort units...

Can't see from the pictures, but if you could put the water pickup behind the prop, you wouldn't need a waterpump. The prop would pump in enough water even at very slow speeds.
Great looking rescue boat! Thanks for sharing.

                                My retrieval or" rescue boat"

I have finally built my own rescue boat...

Traxxas receiver and servo, speed control from my 2wd brushed Slash....The motor is an Aquacraft 550 out board and turns real well.
                                I use a 7 cell Nimh battery .....
Here's a few pics... worked real good in the pool today and will take it with me to the salt water pond tomorrow.
