It is labeled as a Fly Sky, but HobbyKing just put their label on the exact same transmitter recently as well.
It takes 8ea AA 1.5V dry cells.

      8 1.5's is 12V. I would think a 3S lipo would be fine.

Which 3S lipo do you have in your GT3B?

Did you have to remove the 8 AA cell battery tray to fit the lipo in the battery compartment?
              Thanks for the info...

I purchased a GT3B a couple weeks ago and it had horrible range, I didn't have the fail safe set (didn't know it had one) and ran my UL-1 up on the bank,
luckily it was a smooth transition and plenty o mud, it didn't hurt it any. hopefully it was just a fluke and got a junker, I have heard enough positives about them that I ordered another one so we will see...also hobbypartz.com service sux, I've sent them 3 emails and have yet to hear back from them, just FYI

We tested those radios about a year ago. HORRIBLE range and dubious quality at best. We declined to import them. Good luck.

                    I use the HK unit
                    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10608
No problems with 5 hulls and some of them blowing kisses at 70mph
No further than 80m from me as I like a 100m pass plus run in an out.

I have run this system for over a year and love it. I have wet the rx's and they survive for more play.
The Tx is fed with no name 2200mah AA's and will do all I need it to do for 5 or 6 hulls worth of runs on a Sunday morning.

I use the same brand but in a stick setup for my crawler and slow boats.
About to receive a 6ch unit for my upgraded Recovery vessel. I'll need most of the channels
                    See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I have the gTB3 and it works great better than the tactic 2.4 much further range... Don't use lipo guy's say it over heats a part and can burn something out.... we all like using the low self discharge NIMH AA's they work best with this radio... also with the GT3B after ant ajustment you make even for trim you must push down the big dial the enter button or all your settings will not be remembered the next time you use the radio.

Also as of now the EXPO function only works in one direction on these GTB3 radios.

look here for good info on the GTB3 radio
Radio and Electronics - FLYSKY GT3b Transmitter - Dont know if anyone has seen this yet but looks pretty different, plus if it works with the older rx's it'll be cheap to setup multiple cars.
:p What go faster that's what I like to do!

                        Simon,
I am using the FlySky 6 Channel stick radio (same as the HobbyKing) for my rescue boat as well, mainly to control the twin ducted fans so I can steer it like a tank. I use one of the channels to control a large servo that acts as a winch to lift the rescued boat out of the water.
I would be interested to know what you are planning for your extra channels.

Ok I tried a different rx with my gt3b and the range was very impressive, had my summit so far away I could hardly see it next time I wll do a range test first so $35 + $7 rx not bad considering i would have paid return shipping to exchange it...
