I agree. The Airtronics is great. I have three of them as well. I just don't like having to run an external antenna anymore since the Tactics came out.

This is the Airtronics MX-Sport 2.4GHz FHSS-2 Computer Radio. The MX-Sport is the ultimate sport 2.4GHz car/boat radio, and is possibly the best value... AIR90214

You do NOT need an external antenna on the Tactic! It has no receiver antenna at all. It works great.

Range on my GT3B radio is further than I want to drive a boat or car.

Sent my daughter down the street with the transmitter and lost sight
of her around the corner and had to finally call her cell phone to come back.

The 2.4 radios are the way to go. It all depends on what the other folks in your area/club
                  what ever have and recommend.

If you are on a budget, get the Tactic, Flysky GT2 and GT3B.
receivers are MUCH more affordable on the 2 brands. The link up between
the trans. and rec. on both brands is solid. Can't remember if the tactic has
failsafe or not, but the GT2 and GT3B both have programmable fail safes.

                  your choice.,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I had one of the cheapo ones from Hobby City and the range was horrible. I use Tactics all the time and the range has been unlimited so far. If you can't see to drive the boat anymore, then any more range than that is useless anyway.

I tested the range of my new GT3B today; first in the Titan with the antenna just laying down inside. Worked as far away as I'll ever run a boat- then tested in my FE 30 P-Sport; same. Tried in my tunnel; same, only I'm switching back to the Futaba on the tunnel because I can slow down the servo response [Not exponential] to keep the tunnel from being too "jiggly" I paid $68 bucks for the GT3B & 4 rx's including CA sales tax & (free) delivery which took 3 days- just one Fut Rx is $88.00. Nice radio, easy to program, feels nice in the hand. Good stuff !

Wow that's incredible for the price of that radio. I have a Futaba 3VC with Spektrum module SM1001 and SR3001 receiver that I've been using in the races with my big scale 1/5 touring car without any issue and in my titan 29 with the antenna all out I can drive it only within about 100 meters.
Properchopper in your titan were you laying down the antenna on bottom of the hull in contact with carbon fiber or stick on the top?
