The 29 is already legal at 1". It only needs to be an 1" at some point on the free board. Not like the whole length or mid ship to stern or anything. Just at some point like Larry mentioned. Jay Stolz won LSO at the nats with a Delta 29. It wasn't the fastest boat but it was fast enough. He didn't need to be the absolute fastest. The rest of us idiots had DNF's. Gotta finish to win. Great to see Jay win one too. We've been racing together for ages.

In LSO, our club has a couple guys running Delta 33's and they run really well on spec motors. We have at least one Delta 29 (that's Jay). We had a bunch of Titan 29's at one time. I still run mine. It's at least 5 years old. Freddy ran a No Step 3. The NS3 runs great but you have to be careful with that one. Push too hard and it pushes back. We even had a one off Titan 26. That thing was impossible to finish a heat with. Super fun to drive in clean water though. The boat to beat this season was AQ's Prototype cat. Yikes. Like all cats though, you have to actually drive them after about half of an 8 boat heat. I can't wait to see the ProBoat cats showing up on our pond to race. We've only seen one so far but I was impressed with it.

Interesting info. First time I knew the freeboard could be 1" just anywhere. I didn't think the DF29 had 1". When I'm wrong, I'm wrong! Yeeeehaw!
