I'd say go with the one that makes you happy. The P1 definately looks more like a real offshore boat. If not happy with the speed it generates in LSO you could always swap out the power system for something to run in Q too.

Just a note for all you guys that want to run Offshore classes.

The rules say a MAX of 10,000 mAp's

For the people that want to run Twins -
that is 10,000 mAp's on board.

This is a 4 min. race - with a full lap mill.

                  Twins ???
Some of us were only running 5000 with one motor for a mile race
Hmmm If I was to put twins in my CAT skunk cat with 5000 per side

I think I just figured out my winter project :)

The 1" freeboard was included for LSO because the district that proposed it insisted. It was debated to death. "We don't want surfboards" or something to that effect. At the time I think it was the El Lobo that everyone was concerned about. That boat runs great on a 700 motor. With Lipo and brushless going smaller isn't always better like it used to be. I think the length was aimed at keeping out the Key West. My memory is a little fuzzy on that.

I wouldn't get hung up on the 1" thing. Unless you find a club that wants to run 700 motors you're not legal.

Yes, the fix is in the works. It will be coming from D2 if it passes at the district level. So far so good.

Cats will outcorner the Monos in my opinion. I never come off full throttle all the way around with my LSO cat and my big Q offshore cat. Not sure if you can do that with the Genesis though since it's pretty narrow. You would have to be the judge of that.

IF it has 1" of freeboard from at least midships to the stern. I don't think it does.

Just measured my 29" KO and it measures just a hair over 1" towards the middle of the boat.
