One thing to keep in mind is that quite often, getting enough people out to have a decent race is the priority.....if some one wants to race a boat with less freeboard, our club won't say no.

I seen all the dfs run at the nats this year. I dont know why guys are hung up on the 1inch free board rule. If we ran the way the rules are still. We would all be dq for not using a "700" motor. Also does any one know why that rule is only for lso and no other offshore class.

I don't see why not. It's a 6s setup in there isn't it? And I know the hull falls into the 40" or less rule. The Genesis hull is 37 and I'm running it there. Power wise the Thunderbolt qualifies (it is 6s per motor) but it's 10" too long.Comment

The DF 29 & the DF 33 do qualify.
The 1" can be measured anywhere along the length of the hull.
It only has to be 1" high in one place.
If you use a DF25
All you have to do is add two pieces along the top outside edge (one on each side) about 1/4" square.
Shape them a little to look like air intakes.
And you are set to go.

For scale looks,,the P1, for handeling, I like my DF 29 as its great in chop. I'm going to be setting up a Genesis cat with a UL-1 motor for next season for when the waters calm.Grand River Marine Modellers
