Every order I have placed on OSE was received very fast.
I have ordered from China and it takes time... Longer than the US by far. If I ship EMS I get it in about 5-6 Days after the Chinese Vendor ships. If I take it HK post package... thats slow.... I hate waiting that long... Its a guessing game at best.
I just ordered some servo's from Tower using their "parts express" discounted shipping. Make no mistake, there is NO express about it...
Tonight I just ordered a few things from Steve. I bet I will have it Saturday... maybe Monday...
My fav thing about Tower or Horizon: I order a single Tactic rx. It arrices in a 8" square cardboard box. Seems they get a flat rate on boxes that size. Just such a friggin waste!

I ordered a couple Bic pens from Amazon... 2.79 w/free shipping they came in a 12" x 9" x 6" box.
Some of these places, like Tower have shipping contracts with UPS that require the use of standard size boxes and pay lower flat rates... or just by the pound no matter what size box.
Another plug for Steve... he was nice enough to combine my orders yesterday.
...and as always answer my silly questions.

" orders take to long from china " stop crying like babies chinas on the other side of the world duh if ose was there it would be the same thing. People spend a week on a forum to try to make everyone think like them thatys crazy.Who cares? The fact that it needed a thread shows the lobbyist spirit. I buy from both all day long who cares .To all the comments about mr. x pre and post love yall too trust me lol.Aint nothing like haters they keep a brotha sharp .
All of the Lipolys are made in China or South Korea.......just as well buy them from Hobby King. Hum, now that I think of it.....I bet all the BL motors are made there as well, if not, the parts are.
Steve ,now you know I buy from you, but straight outright is it not true that by one way or another some of the money you buy stuff with makes it back to china? Im done at that question I promise.Members keep getting caught up in foolish chatter and watch your boats get slower and slower lol.Start a thread about do you buy from the UK or Germany or Where ever. To be honest were much more dependent on them cause we cant seem to live without high tech toys and gadjets. Chinas global pollution is a result of all the rich American and Europeans demands abroad stop hatin. They pollute the word making this stuff we buy.I guess people dont know that half of our banks are basically owned by the chinese at this point . Some of your houses are truly owned buy them if you making a house note.Yeah everyone we owe economys failing cause we didnt keep up with our credit.Right / Left all liars thats politics and I hate when people bring that junk to a boat race.
thanks for the real facts.......I just caught the end of it on tv. I wondered about them just shooting anyone that walked out.
thanks,
Steve

Your claim is not entirely correct. I just spoke with a good friend of mine in China that is in the electronics hobby manufacturing business. He said workers at a Japanese owned auto plant did go on strike. Nothing more than that. He said that there is no such sentiment or problem in the Hobby industry. At the present time, the Chinese are more concerned with their economy collapsing...following the lead of the rest of the world. He said the people in China are smart enough to realize that they cannot jeopardize having a job by going on strike. ANY job is better than NO job. He went on to say that they fear the exchange rate of the dollar would go way up, making their currency less valuable. I don't see that. The US government is adamant they want the dollar to be worth even less in China than it is now. THAT is a bigger threat to our prices for Chinese products going up.
Personally, I doubt anything is going to change anytime soon. China needs the rest of the world and the rest of the world needs China. I doubt any government or politician will jeopardize the relationship regardless of how much 'noise and bluff' they throw about politically.
I bought from Steve for the first time this week becuse a friend recomended OSE I didnt even price check the items I bought on other sites. Knowing I am buying from a reputable bis is worth the extra funds imho. I am not saying HobbyKing or any of the others arent reputable I have bought from them as well this week but as far as hardware goes I was told "Steve doesnt sell junk and backs his products" by someone I trust so I plan on buying from him if he has what I need. I am just glad hes here in the states I used to try to buy from my local hobby shop but after years of crappy service I went to buying online. Thanks Steve and the guys who provide insite and guidance to us noob's I appreciate it. As far as the website I have to second the wishlist and maybe related items links. I know most of the people here know what goes with what but it would help us new guys.
If I needed a new boat, hardware or anything.....I'd call Steve and I'd know it would 100% good.
I wish that people here (USA) could break the monopoly on LiPoly, too many levels of people picking off dollars as they go buy.
You sir, hit the nail on the head. That is a major reason why US products aren't as competitive in pricing. Aside from more expensive manufacturing, there are too many steps involved and at each step there's a profit margin to pay.
This is where capitalism is fundamentally at it's weakest against socialism.
In the words of a drug dealer, this *!***!***!***!**'s been stepped on so much it's baby food.
To be competitive and win, it would have to be entered like fast food. Where the Retailer would own the factory and all the factories making the parts needed for the final product.
Only 1 profit margin to worry about.
As it is now, to build a battery pack in the US, the chemical company would profit, the steel company, the wire company, the shrink wrap company, the supplier, the distributer and finally the retailer.
Not to mention higher labor, potential unions, higher operating cost, electricity, EPA/OSHA regs and labor laws... All adding to the expense of any product.
The cards are stacked in the favor of foreign trade.
OK, Carry On, sorry for the sidetrack.

DID YOU READ the FIRST paragraph of THE THREAD TOPIC? Like reading a book, you have past the FRONT cover to provide yourself with a full idea of what the author is trying to get across. Here it is again in case you missed.
"There has been several talks about buying from China or the USA. I don’t want to get into the continental buying battle. We live in a small world these days and each consumer has to weigh ALL the pluses and minuses to where he or she buys an item.
So, I want to tell you why I think OSE has it over some of the competition."
And to answer your question, of course money gets back to China. You dont have to be a brain surgeon to figure that out. For starters I'm the largest importer of Feigao motors into the USA. So I would say a few US dollars goes that way.
