OSE has been my one stop shop for everything I needed during the building phase of my last three boats. Steve has carried EVERYTHING I needed and he has given me outstanding advice as well. I don't even bother looking elsewhere because I am loyal to OSE and Steve. The only thing I don't buy from him are my LiPo's - I get them from Hobby King. I hope OSE is around for a long time because I have a 1.5 year old son who loves to watch me race my boats and I want OSE to be around when he starts his own builds.

For me down here in New Zealand it is a little different.

I can get Octura props at a local store 1 of about 3 in the country for about the same price as I could ship them in from OSE. That one is easy

I have bought a few motors from OSE and they are great Feigaos and a 700 brushed. It is now cheaper to buy of the net form me so that one is simple too.

Lipos ! It has been covered and I'll not rub that one in.

I really appreciate the forum and it is the forum I use the most, I am an active member of a few other forums but OSE is my "obsession" (wifes words)

There is a lot for all of us to learn and share and there is some good entertainment too when some members throw their toys out of the cot.

There is some great humour too except from those from the land of Kangaroo's. Just ignore them !!

Geeez, Simon and UB you are ganging up on us. Actually most of us Aussies are well behaved and it is only Andy, ozzie and myself that say what we think.
Talking about saying what we think I am just about to do that.
If I am buying quality, it is brand names I look for and not where they are made or come from. If I want an esc or a motor I go for CC and Neu. Considering the torture I give these two items I have had very few failures. The one complaint I have about CC and Neu is their availability at times. I have wanted Hydra 240 esc's and Neu motors at times and OSE has not had them in stock. I have sourced them from other places at these times and that has cost Steve $$$'s in the pocket. I try to buy of OSE when I can but I will not wait for stock to come in if I can get it elsewhere. Yes the Germans make good esc's and I have one of theirs too but CC esc's are the best bang for the buck IMO.
When it comes to batteries I have both expensive and cheap packs. I seem to be able to puff both types equally but I will say that there is a little more speed in the more expensive packs.
I have used both Chinese and American hardware and hulls and both worked fine.
For me when I want a product I consider quality, price and availability. Another thing I also consider when buying a product is what else do I need to buy at the same time. This is where OSE often wins out in my decision as to where I will buy my things as Steve has a good supply of props and hatch tape and other sundry items that I like to buy. OSE has a more complete inventory of products for FE and has no peer when it comes to my general needs.
As for the forum I seldom post as no one talks to me anyway

                Douggie,

Logic and reason have no effect on this guy. I just laughed when I saw your original post. Obviously ironic sarcasm was used by you as a term of endearment between friends but Mr. X isn't smart enough to understand that.

Edit, after reviewing the thread if it was me you were after STATE IT or some other member.

Let's be clear. First, Zippy and Turnigy are just house brands for Hobbyking. Second, Hobbyking gets a huge discount from the manufacturer because they order in huge quantities. Unfortunately, neither Steven nor I or any other vendor for that matter can get a discount from Hobbyking that amounts to anything on the Zippy and Turnigy packs. We also can not buy from the source manufacturer because we can't buy the huge bulk that Hobbyking does. Hobbyking relies on very high volume but very low per item profits.

The cost of EMS shipping runs the cost of each pack up even more. Of course we COULD carry the packs by ordering from Hobbyking but the cost to the customer would be much higher than if they bought directly from Hobbyking because we need to make a profit, sometimes incredibly small as it is. Bottom line, everyone would complain that they could buy the zippy and turnigy packs cheaper from Hobbyking and consequently would not buy them from us.

At the end of the day, no matter how much Steven and I and other vendors want to be the good guys, we must make a profit to stay in business and be able to continue to offer the products and service you have come to expect from us.

I just recieved my second shipment from OSE in 2 weeks and each arrived in under 6 days, including weekends. Not bad considering the uphill route to Canada.

                    Great service as usual.

I keep hearing about this mythical phone number for OSE, but have yet to track it down.

Your claim is not entirely correct. I just spoke with a good friend of mine in China that is in the electronics hobby manufacturing business. He said workers at a Japanese owned auto plant did go on strike. Nothing more than that. He said that there is no such sentiment or problem in the Hobby industry. At the present time, the Chinese are more concerned with their economy collapsing...following the lead of the rest of the world. He said the people in China are smart enough to realize that they cannot jeopardize having a job by going on strike. ANY job is better than NO job. He went on to say that they fear the exchange rate of the dollar would go way up, making their currency less valuable. I don't see that. The US government is adamant they want the dollar to be worth even less in China than it is now. THAT is a bigger threat to our prices for Chinese products going up.

Personally, I doubt anything is going to change anytime soon. China needs the rest of the world and the rest of the world needs China. I doubt any government or politician will jeopardize the relationship regardless of how much 'noise and bluff' they throw about politically.

Thanks for the thoughts. I do have a bunch of loyal customers and I'm very thankful for that.

Let me make something clear on item stock. If something isn't instock, its not for the reason that I just dont go buy it. Hobby items are not easy items to keep on the shelves. They may not sell for a month, then all of a sudden, a few people buy the same esc or wind and they are now out of stock. Then it takes 6-8 weeks to get them back on the selves because of backorder delays for the manufacturers.
