Well iam going to give it a go with the 180a esc, any suggestion on prop size.

So iam guessing the larger the prop the hotter the Electrical components will run?

I also have an x640 im preety sure it is is that more suited?

Take a look at this tread.

I think this setup in a 37" boat would be great.

I am pushing the limits with my 32".

I think i will keep with the 9l motor.

What are the advantages of running an external BEC, do you think i should get one to take some load of my Speed Controller and which one should i get, the Castle creations one or the Sprt BEC version?

External BEC takes some load of the ESC.

You need to keep the ESC as cool as possible.

I have a Hydra 240A ESC, but the internal BEC for that one only supports up to 3S. Since my setup is 4S I had to use an external BEC. Even if your internal BEC supports the battery voltage you are planning to run, I red a bunch of posts that suggest an external BEC is still a good idea-- reduced chance of failures.

For what it is worth I ran a 33" with a 6l 580 4s just a week ago and I was using a x440 and the peak amp pull was at 140. The motor is rated at 130.

I ran a 34" cat with a 580 10L, same batts as you, and a seaking 180. Used only an X447/3. The motor lasted exactly 4 minutes! Demagnetized due to heat and took out my ESC. A buddy had two of them throw the magnets and take out his esc.

I wouldn't put a Feigao 580L on the end of a fishing line as a sinker! I think they are junk and the cheap price ends up costing you. My buddy already switched to a NEU 1527/1Y which pushes his boat faster and is super reliable. After buying two Feigao 580's and two Castle Controllers, he would have saved money by starting with the NEU in the beginning! I'm saving my pennies for a NEU.

What Neu motor is equivalent to a Feigao 580 9l?

So a 580 9l can push a scale boat? 1527's are pretty rhobust motors arent they?

These motors are fast electric motors, meant to be run full out. They are not designed for slow running in scale boats. Running an FE motor at low speed will burn up the ESC and overheat the motor too.
