no that was the peak amps every time he nailed it as such from memory constant was around 120-130 (spikes were higher)
i run them in my boats non water cooled (small fan) with an average amp draw around 85-90 amps, but i only run for 2 minutes, esc is usally the same temp as water cooled motor 120f

i have nothing against the hydras, just i cant afford one and the warranty is not much good out side the u.s
i am very keen tho to see if they bring out a marine version of the ICE controller with the inbuilt data logger, especially if there cheaper than the hydras
this will not only give more people an idea of there setup but give CC an indication on warranties, they will know exactly how many amps were being pulled etc if it dies

a yes but think, battry goes flat bring it in top it up and your of again
no more charging, you could go to a race event with 4-5 boats and only acouple of batteries
i think boat hulls are going to have to change a lot in the next few years
no longer will they be made to be powered by limited nitro engines
but by more powerful electric motors and ever changing battry power

I agree. More power and less charging times = great RCing.

There is just something about that Mystery logo that suggests premonition to me.

Maybe that is why they now call it SWANG: Still Working After that No Good fire.

I would put a fiver down that says they are all the same spec and possibly from the same factory.
The QC on these is a lot of hit and miss. I have used and still use a few of the Mystery 200A units.

If you are going to push any esc to its max rated power then it very likely will sh1t itself. That is what max ratings are all about.
Spec your setup to 75% of the esc max rating and all will be a lot better.

I use a Swang, Mystery, SuperSimple ESC. I'll get a HiModel one day just to see how it goes.
The low cost Chinese units are fine as long as you appreciate what you are buying.....I do. !

i always thought it was a MYSTERY why people spend 5 times as much on a esc just to watch it go up in flames

Must be that pride received from supporting quality US company! I have to admit I do have a bevy of their Mamba Max ESC for rock crawling and other stuff,

but frankly they don't have their junk together when it comes to the boat esc's
