If painting hull be sure to use paint manufacturers matching primer and paint to prevent pealing when removing hatch tape. I used Summitracing's high build urethane primer surfacer. From the can this stuff is too thick to spray using 5mm tip HVLP gun. You must thin it down lots until it sprays well. Then I sprayed over primer using Summitracing's Urethane paint.
The easiest and cheapest route is using Krylons matching primer and paint. I have had verygood luck with Krylon paint not pealing. Easy touch up also.
Lots of beautiful Whiplashes out there that have been clear coated only. I do not know how they do that. Epoxy hull, sand, then spray clear?
i've enjoyed your build thread, as far as the clear finish i wet sand the epoxy coating and then shoot some clear(sometimes no clear just wet sand the epoxy and then apply another coat when dried)
I just returned from the 2010 NAMBA Fast Electric Nationals in Greeley, CO and I am pleased to report that my Ducati Whiplash took 1st place in LSH and 2nd place in P-Sport Hydro.
Thanks again to all of the sponsors and the NAMBA District 20 clubs for hosting a GREAT event! I made a lot of new friends there and learned some new tricks as well.
A special thanks to Jeepers for his prop suggestion in P-sport, and to Teach for the flushing syringe.

Congrats!
Would you care to let us in on your setups please?
I could probably get more speed out of my Whiplash in LSH trim, but those same hull changes would make it too flighty in P-sport configuration. It was a sacrifice I made to have one hull that could work in both LSH and P-Sport classes. Besides, you need approximately 5-7mph more speed to pass someone on the outside. I'm in the right speed range. I just need to keep lane one every lap... And who is to say that I was running at 100% throttle
