Thanks Norm. I got a set of 32" cat King of Shaves decals from Oliver at H&M and would like to utilise that if possible...

        30" scratch built cat

Jesse and lomodel hello. Tested the cat again today to try and correct a small
porpoising action when accelerating fast. Not at speed but in starting out from
a dead stop. I installed some home made aluminum plates (photos attached)
and adjusted them two degrees downward and to my surprise that not only fixed
the problem but increased my top speed to 36.1 mph. Hope this will help if
you encounter the same problem. Now to install a UL-1 motor and esc and lipos. Regards
        Norman

Interesting, I like! I may try that on my build as well, maybe with this size this starts to help lift the trnsom as well getting the whole boat out of the water more. I wish I could see how she looks at speed, these are beautiful hulls!

Lomdel, hows progress? I am trying to get me a pair of those struts for my intruder build, Jeff says he can get me some I just hope he don't make me wait tooo long.

The pics in my last post is where I am still at. Not much time lately. I will continue soon... Can't find Silkspan or something similiar locally to fibreglass her and if I order it will take a while. No electronics yet, still saving up for that...

My buddy the Camel hooked me up. he had it in his garage along with a bunch of other untouched hulls and said he could part with it for a nominal price. I was very lucky on this one! I know you can get thm from Hydro & Marine if you do a search you find em pretty quick.

Boat looks good. The aft part of the c5000 / mystic is wayyyyyy different then the balsa cat your building.

Hi lomodel, I must admit that they are very similar. Shockerman did a good job
when he designed this cat. I am very happy with mine so I am going to install
a UL-1 power system. The boats look exactly the same. This is a surprise. Yours
is coming out super. I am jealous. Regards

Hi Norman, nice scoops, I need me some too!

The P just means how many cells in parallel. if you have two 2S packs, and you run them in series, then you 4 cells and no parallel cells or 4S1P. If you use two 4S packs in parallel, thus doubling your capacity (3000mah to 6000mah) then you have 4 cells in parallel, or 4S2P.

I highly recommend going at least 4500 mah. I know I had the same reaction when I was first told this, but you will be glad later when you are still using your first packs. I have several sets of low mah packs that I just don't use anymore.

If you can do it, go for two packs of 4S and if you parallel them up you can go for say 4000 mah capacity. If you are only doing 2S packs in series, then please, do yourself a favor and get the 4900 mah packs I suggested in the first place. 2 reasons, better current flow to motor and longer run times. If you are installing the UL1 motor/esc then by all means, get high mah packs!!!

Good luck, do you like my new signature? saw it in a recent post and man I support it fully.

JesseJ. will follow your advice and go 4500MAH. My God, what a fleet. If I had one like that
I would definitely be divorced. I only have 2 cars, 2 sailboats, and two Fast electircs boats
and she is now raising her eyebrows. Wait till the lipos and charger gets here. I wil have to
take her out to a big dinner. Regards

You guys crack me up! I had to read to my wife, she commented, "at the very least [a big dinner]"
She is tolerant, and very understanding - doesn't hurt that she see how working in "my dominion" relaxes me.
