The charge is usually per minute not meter, because the intensity and speed of the laser cutter is set according to the thickness and material density being cut. That is why cutting a 1meter 3mm balsa is much cheaper than cutting a 1meter 4mm plywood, for example...

Got it. My offer was for plywood 3 to 5mm. For Balsa 3-5 is 0.7.

If that was a question to me, it's easy... Have no idea... They cut max 8mm ply, 10mm balsa, 10mm clear acrylics. No forex or other foams (chlorine fumes...)

Im not a laser expert and far from it. The cutter is actually a friend! So i dont think he was ripping me off with the price, actually doing it maybe a little cheaper!. But yeah i totally agree.... for this much outlay, i would just prefer to go buy a head of the river cat. Save a lot of time and prob cost around the same. If you guys really want to know all the laser specs, i can ask.

Shame as its very rewarding to float your own boat.

Theres been some progress on my build. I'll post pics soon. I ordered a SV27 cockpit like Norman's and is currently busy with sanding down the primer coat after 3x coats of resin was applied. Tip: Let resin dry horisontally, NOT vertically!!

Thanx Norm, but I want to go as scale as possible with this one. The SV27 cockpit should work just fine for now...

30" Scratch Built Cat Or Mono

Hi, I have a hatch with twin cockpits from a ProBoat Apache 24 which could be
used for Cats or Monos. Please let me know if anyone can use them and I will
ship free. This would be easier than styrofoam. Attached Photo.

I just had a major set-back! The hull was out on the patio drying the primer coat in the glorious South African sun. I looked away for a couple of minutes and my 18 month old daughter got hold of it and slammed it nose first onto the floor!! Major damage to the right sponson nose section! I'll have to take everything off there and sheet it with a few layers of fibreglass probably. Another week down the drain... I know I promised pics soon but I'll take some when the damage has been fixed. Oh the joys of parenthood!

The plans from Lomdel are in mm.

And that stinks... I was looking forward to seeing your hull for motivation to build mine.
